Completely throwing thus out there but would be nice to see a former GM such as Nick or someone else working as Isaac only it would helpout the Commishxa lot but just speaking it from the back of my head Ifs and buts and candy and nuts. Obviously that would be optimal, everything can't always work out perfectly. You're showing your youth, let the old and wise lead I agree with BigTex. Plus I'm too wrapped up helping Dad figure out how to beat these boys in the AL South.

It's a simple fact, big Free Agents to be players don't sign an extension in the middle of the season period it doesn't happen, specially in this circunstance And that is real life, not a video game. Also in real life GMs get fired for not winning, we do not do that in the PBL. Also in real life players would be scared to sign with teams who trade guys as quickly as you do as well. We strive for as much realism as possible while acknowledging this really isn't the real world.

That is different than me telling you I want those guys to hit free agency and have you shit out of luck. T
he point is to make it realistic and know some stars will sign big contracts to stay with their teams (think Kershaw real life), others will need to be traded because teams can't or don't want to afford signing a player to that amount of money (think Lester & Cuerto) and others will stay on a team for the year trying to win it all and test free agency (think Scherzer).
The point is to be realistic and know you can't collect a roster of all-stars and expect to sign them all to long term deals. If you're a small market team then its probably not wise to invest $40-50 million on two starting pitchers, etc....

Kind of flawed here as well;
Raymond Harrington just won the MVP and is on pace for HOF career, he signed for $21.5m not because he deserves to be paid $15m less than the SPs but because he is getting paid about 20% higher than the next highest paid 3B at his position. The salary for infielders will continue to grow, as it will for outfielders as well but I'm not going to demand a $20m jump in salary over next highest paid player at his position. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US set the market so far by signing pitchers to massive contracts, signing infielders to less valued contracts, etc. Its Zevin's job to keep increasing salaries BASED ON THE MARKETS we set.
At some point a 3B will earn $30m MAYBE but it will be because guys like Harrington signed for 20% MORE than next highest paid guy. This type of thing happens.
As far as length of deal, I been doing it consistent with what real contracts have been signed but I also been very flexible to length of deals, etc.
Also on human note, this is a one man operation. In real baseball, there are hundreds of agents competing to one up the next guy. If there were more agents then we could compete to get our clients the best numbers, make them highest paid. It would be a game within the game but that's not the case here. There will be human error as well when a player could of signed for more (or less) but that's all part of this.

Just needed to drop in here and say the PBL is the best. The passion, the opinions, the angles of discussion is a tremendous read.
All of you contribute to make this a fantastic league, with a fantastic leader. Great discussion!
