I may have said this elsewhere, so sorry for repeating if I have. I also think that with each new release of OOTP the developers balance the game for the "default". So, say they balance for PCM's of 1.000 (and everything else, aging, development, etc.). If your PCM's are already either side of 1.000 there is a good chance they may be further (one way or the other) if the developers choose to tweak something so that 1.000 works better, without your game ever being adjusted.
Not sure if, over time, that might be the case here or not.
Why I am a believer in "default" and let the game do as much as possible without human intervention.
Add to that the fact that 17 has again changed the way the draft classes are presented (highlighting potential with more stars - much like 13 and 14 - instead of moderate potential with fewer stars that may develop into a stud) and I'm with Anthony. Tread lightly on making any changes.
If there are old dudes floating to the top of the FA pool, regardless of whether they have played in a couple of years or not, it simply shows there are many more sub-par players (of all ages) much further down. Help a brother out and sign a codger this off-season!!!!!!!
