White Sox Review
1. Very excited about this off-season some of it has to do with me returning as a GM but also I'm really excited about the moves we've made in general in the youth direction infusing some high end talented youngsters to the organization.
2. SS Freddy Rodriguez. Paid a ridiculous sum to acquire him needless to say, anticipation abounds.
3. Was not in control of last year's team so I had no attachments to that roster
4. See #2, some pitchers have an outside shot of making the opening day roster
5. Haven't been in the league long enough to make that determination.
6. Conventional wisdom would say the Cubs, but this is my questionnaire so I'm going to say the Twins.
7. If everything goes right but in all likelihood probably not.
8. Winner is Philly over Red Sox in 5 games

1. In general, how do you think your offseason went? Mixed. I got into trouble with my finances and had to make some moves that I DID NOT want to make. Trading away my 3B Nakashima, the rest of my best prospects, and trading young pitcher Gabe Camacho were not in my plans going into the offseason. On the positive side, I brought in the big-time power hitter and MVP Alfredo Pantoja from Cleveland. I have long sought for a big bat in my lineup capable of 30+ homers and 100+ RBI. That describes Pantoja. While I didn't want to lose Camacho I was able to acquire Joe Achison 2. Who are you most excited about adding to your organization? Alfredo Pantoja! 3. Who are you going to miss the most from last years team? Pitcher Gabe Camacho. Was going to use him in my starting rotation this season. He has the skills to be a very, very good pitcher. 4. Do you have any prospects poised to make the team? Um...no. 5. If the league reset, and you had the top pick in the draft of every player, who would you take? My initial reaction was Pantoja because of his power but I think it would be Oakland's SP Kane. I would build around him and work on establishing a league best pitching staff. 6. It's been a few years since i asked this question. Which team, today, is your biggest rival? I am going after the Reds. Taking down the big dog in the division would be awesome! The Reds are the perennial winners of the division, at least in my 3 seasons in the PBL. Granted they lost the division title last season to the Brew Crew but I still think Sean's team is the team to beat within our division. Of course I also want to overtake the Brewers too. 7. Will you win a World Series in the next 5 years? I don't know. I am really trying to get there. In trying so hard this offseason I went deep into the financial hole and had to sell some pretty valuable assets to dig myself out of it. Overzealousness also has cost me all of my ML ready prospects. The IRL Cubs won the series because they have some absolutely amazing young guys that they have developed within the farm system. What's even more exciting is that the IRL team still has a lot of depth in the farm system. I think this should help them remain competitive for a long time. I wish I had the patience to have built my PBL team like that. The 10 years of finishing well below .500 pushed me over the edge. So, will I win it all over the next 5 years was the question. I don't think so. 8. Do you own OOTP18? Yes but I haven't downloaded it yet. 9. predict the World Series. Winner/Loser/games... I think it will be the Indians and the Pirates with the Indians prevailing in 7 games.

1. In general, how do you think your offseason went? The off-season was a quiet one. Few changes were necessary. We are happy to have signed two, veteran infielders to both strengthen the infield and enable a couple of our better prospects to develop and gain experience at the AAA level for an additional season. We are very happy that our fans are so excited about the team. Season ticket sales are expected to be about 23,800, an increase of just shy of 8% over last season. 2. Who are you most excited about adding to your organization? We are excited to have added infielders Mal Adams and Mike Brown. Adams becomes the starting 2B and Brown will add depth at multiple positions. Each has very good plate discipline, can add some pop at the plate, and can play three positions. 3. Who are you going to miss the most from last years team?We are going to miss 2B Juan Salazar. For five seasons, Salazar played very well in the field and, for the most part, batted pretty well. Two seasons ago he even launched 23 HR, drove home 81 runs, and earned 97 free passes. Yet, at 28 years old and despite possessing a strong work ethic, his skills inexplicably dropped substantially during the last campaign. We elected not to offer him a contract. 4. Do you have any prospects poised to make the team?Rookie Enrique Herrera is poised to take the reigns as the starting CF. Although the speedy youngster still is learning and developing in the field, he is extremely sure-handed and possesses a cannon for an arm. At 21 years old, he has excelled at the AA and AAA levels. It is time for him to prove he belongs in the majors. We are confident that he will do so. Enrique Vazquez, the top prospect in the PBL and another 21 year-old prospect, will begin the season in AAA. He already has a repertoire of five pitches including a fast ball that tops out at 101 mph. Last season he compiled a 17-3 record with a 2.71 ERA in AA. Even though he already could be considered the best SP in the organization, we do not wish to rush him. Nevertheless, if injuries sideline starters pitching for the parent club, Vazquez could get the call before September. A third prospect who is coming on strong in the organization is Mark Cochran, our 2nd round pick in the 2040 draft. Last season, Cochran captured Outstanding Hitter Award honors at the A+ level and, after being promoted, continued to punish opposing pitchers at the AA level. Cochran is projected as a future starting 2B or 3B for us. This season, however, he will be asked - over his objections - to gain additional experience while playing at the AAA level. Cochran is another player who could see PBL playing time during the season. 5. If the league reset, and you had the top pick in the draft of every player, who would you take?Enrique Vazquez. He projects to have an awesome career. 6. It's been a few years since i asked this question. Which team, today, is your biggest rival? The teams in the NL West are my biggest rivals. Despite 10 consecutive winning seasons and rebuilding during that stretch, we haven't been able to win the division. Each of the other three teams has done so. It's been a long time since we won pennants in '27 through '29. I seem to be able to build good, even very good, teams, but not great teams. Sooner or later we will top them all and then excel in the playoffs. 7. Will you win a World Series in the next 5 years? That's the goal. 8. Do you own OOTP18?Yes. I migrated the solo league I use for testing, but I have not yet explored the new version. 9. Predict the World Series. Winner/Loser/games....I threw some darts and hit upon the Phillies and the Red Sox with the Phillies winning in seven games. [Hopefully this jinxes them both and the very deep Giants squad wins it all. ]

1. In general, how do you think your offseason went?
Could’ve been better. I had a lot of money to spend and wanted to grab a power bat in free agency. Through a combination of me not being aggressive enough, and a couple players not giving me a chance to counteroffer, I struck out. As it stands my only free agent contract is for Ben Smith, who as his name implies is a generic middle reliever.
2. Who are you most excited about adding to your organization?
CF Blaine Ritter. He took a bit of a ratings drop in the offseason, but he’s coming off a 6 WAR season in Chicago, so even if he falls off a little he’ll be a good investment. He also gives me a bit of flexibility in the outfield until Chris Allen arrives (see question 4).
3. Who are you going to miss the most from last years team?
IF Nariaki Ito. Not much of a bat, but his speed and gold glove defense at SS will be missed. Plus I was finally learning to spell his name. Plus everyone else I lost kind of sucked.
4. Do you have any prospects poised to make the team?
C Robin Johnson and SS Carl Baird are technically rookies, though they saw some playing time late last year. Johnson projects to be a very well rounded hitter, and Baird is a SS with some solid pop. They’ll both begin the seasons as starters, but the main event probably won’t reach the bigs until a little later in the year. CF Chris Allen has improved by leaps and bounds since he was selected #2 overall in the 2040 draft, and is turning into a true five tool player. Once he cuts down on his strikeouts and figures out lefties (and I have full confidence he will), Allen should wreak havoc on the rest of the PBL.
5. If the league reset, and you had the top pick in the draft of every player, who would you take?
I can’t imagine passing on Duane Hansen considering he’s already great, has a ridiculous ceiling, and still has five years of team control left.
6. It's been a few years since i asked this question. Which team, today, is your biggest rival?
I can’t claim it’s a rivalry yet, but I have my sights set on Atlanta in the NL South. It’s gonna be a tough mountain to climb considering they’re already really good and have a stacked farm system, but I think I can give them a run pretty soon here.
7. Will you win a World Series in the next 5 years?
Impossible to say if I’ll actually win one, but I have a window that should open soon. Maybe not this year, but I certainly should be in contention next year.
8. Do you own OOTP18?
Not yet, but I will soon.
9. Predict the World Series. Winner/Loser/games....
Pittsburgh over Tampa in five.

1. In general, how do you think your off-season went? I think we had a great off-season. We are still building up our farm, while trying to acquire short-term pieces as cheaper free agents to at least try and win a few games. This off-season we also managed to sign a couple of players worth more than a one-year too.
2. Who are you most excited about adding to your organization? I'll pick two. SP Bill O'Herlihy would likely be further down the rotation on most other teams. We are going to tag him as the Ace out of the blocks this season and hope he responds. I am not expecting him to be lights out and his career ERA to this point is nothing to write home about, but at 28 we felt he was a good piece to add on a multi-year deal as we build out this rotation. I'm also excited we were able to secure 3B Paco Pongo. He's 26 and can certainly play defense, so he's worth a multi-year deal too. If he comes anywhere near being as cool as his name on the hot corner, he'll be a fixture in Montreal for years!
3. Who are you going to miss the most from last years team? We were able to punch out a few home runs last season with our lineup. I thought I might have to answer 3B Jose Pineda, and his 22 doubles and HR's, but he decided to take our last minute one-year offer to re-join the Expos. Other than that there was nothing notable we'll miss.
4. Do you have any prospects poised to make the team? One of my owner's goals is to bring up more drafted and developed talent. I have eleven up for Spring Training and will I do not expect all eleven to stay I am going to give SS Michael Flagell a good, hard look this spring. I think he may require at least another season at AAA, having just advanced to that level last year, but he might surprise. There is no need to push them as we are not close at all.
5. If the league reset, and you had the top pick in the draft of every player, who would you take? Tough question. A first round pick in someone's organization, followed by another and then another, around which you could build the future.
6. It's been a few years since i asked this question. Which team, today, is your biggest rival? Rival? That is an interesting question, given where we are in our evolution. I would say The Mets, only because I think we're on a similar build trajectory at the moment (they're well ahead). But unless we can solve Pittsburgh and Philadelphia down the road, rivalry is not an accurate term for either of us in the NL East. I only hope Pittsburgh will be the answer to that question, for both of us, at some point!
7. Will you win a World Series in the next 5 years? Uh, No.
8. Do you own OOTP18? Yes.
9. Predict the World Series. Winner/Loser/games.... Hmmm. Tough call because I don't think anyone is a lock in the AL. Each expected contender seems to have some excellent pieces, but nobody seems to have all of the pieces. I might go back to Baltimore as the AL WS team this season.
In the NL, always hard to rule out Pittsburgh, or the defending champs, and while I do think Philadelphia will have another good season, having to return to Pittsburgh. They just never really stumble and keep regenerating positions of need each year to remain strong.
Pittsburgh takes Baltimore in six games!

1. In general, how do you think your off season went?
The off season was what it had to be. It was a quiet winter as we couldn't squeeze blood out of a stone. The stone being my cheap ass owner who has cut my budget to the ridiculous level it's at now.
2. Who are you most excited about adding to your organization?
No money means no new players. Maybe next year.
3. Who are you going to miss the most from last years team?
Marcos Pena had been a beloved Warhound for many ye......Oh wait, that's right- He's still here! I guess I will say the player I will miss the most is Porter Wilson, if only so I can make fun of the fact he opted out of 2 years and $16m guaranteed deal to sign a 1 year $1.8m deal with Arizona.
4. Do you have any prospects poised to make the team?
Here is where things get exciting. The shortstop job is Greg Snyder's to lose. The 26 year old has a knack of getting on base paired with a solid glove. Manuel Rosado and Jasper Smith are competing for a spot in the starting rotation. Rosado was the centerpiece of a mid-season trade with the Cardinals while Smith had an outstanding 2.34 ERA for AA Hartford last year. 20 year old 1st Baseman Clint Lindsey has shot up through the farm system and hit an amazing .371 in 51 games of AA ball in 2041. He is a long shot to break camp with the parent club, but I won't be surprised if he is playing in Carolina by the All-Star break. Then finally keep an a eye on a trio of flame throwing Relievers. David Field, George Briggs and Jeffrey Jennings all hit 98+ on the radar gun and are poised to give the Warhounds a deep low-cost bullpen within the next year. Other names you will soon see starring in the PBL include Starting Pitchers Howard Nichols and Javier Gonzales. Shortstop Jen-Kan Hu and Outfielder Jim Shaw. The farm system is definitely the strength of the Hounds.
5. If the league reset, and you had the top pick in the draft of every player, who would you take?
Toronto's Pierre Boucher was a great rookie and then took a quantum leap in his 2nd season. I would gladly built my team around him.
6. It's been a few years since i asked this question. Which team, today, is your biggest rival?
A 3-tie between all of my NL South division mates. I always look forward to battles with the Braves, Nats and Marlins.
7. Will you win a World Series in the next 5 years?
Hell yes! At least one, maybe more.
8. Do you own OOTP18?
I do. I can't wait to give them my $$$ every spring.
9. Predict the World Series. Winner/Loser/games....
Tampa Bay over Pittsburgh in a 7 game classic.

1. In general, how do you think your offseason went? Our organization was forced to make some tough decisions this offseason, most notably trading SP Will Taylor to Baltimore. Despite that, I believe we can still compete for the NL Central division title and anything can happen in October. We added Cuban OF Alberto Ojeda and are excited to see what kind of power numbers he puts up at GABP this season. We forfeited one of our 1st round picks this season to sign SP Bob Phillips to a 2 year deal. Phillips should fit well into our rotation and help bridge the gap until some of our younger prospects are ready to get the call in 2 or 3 years. We also added LH RP Miguel Hernandez who should be a quality arm out of the bullpen.
2. Who are you most excited about adding to your organization? Alberto Ojeda. Any time you can add a young OF/DH with 8 Gap Power and 8 Power is reason to be excited enough but if he can raise his contact rating to 6 this season, I think he will be a force to be reckon with.
3. Who are you going to miss the most from last years team? Will Taylor. Taylor has been a big part of our success over the last 6 years and I hated the thought of trading him but felt like it was the right move to make. I will be rooting Taylor on for this rest of his career and hope that he has a few more solid years left in him for the Orioles.
4. Do you have any prospects poised to make the team? Technically RP Jorge Rodriguez still qualifies as a rookie and projects to have a spot in my bullpen this year. Rule V P Ronald Long has a chance to make the team but will need to have a strong Spring to earn a spot. Prospects like SP Norman Cline, RP Christian Webb, and C Michael Pratt all have a shot at getting called up this season at some point. I think 1B Bob Daniel and SP Rob Mills are a year away from really pushing for a spot.
5. If the league reset, and you had the top pick in the draft of every player, who would you take? Tse-Tung Jue. This guy already is a beast and he's 22.
6. It's been a few years since i asked this question. Which team, today, is your biggest rival? Division wise, it's the Brewers but overall I would say Pittsburgh. It's not a bitter rivalry though, they just consistently put together a great squad and we haven't been able to beat them yet when it counts in October.
7. Will you win a World Series in the next 5 years? Our owner wants one in the next 2 so... I think we will continue to be competitive and I'm excited for our future.
8. Do you own OOTP18? Yes, but I haven't had the opportunity to download it yet.
9. predict the World Series. Winner/Loser/games.... Pirates vs Athletics with the Pirates winning in 6. If OAK gets another bat at some point.

1. In general, how do you think your offseason went?
I think our offseason went great! We finally got Orlando Perez's contract off of the books, and so despite our 27th ranked budget, we had a lot money to spend this offseason. We managed to sign 6 free agents, and we still have room to sign another major free agent once the comp tags come off of certain players. According to the offseason summary, we had a net gain 4.8 WAR through our free agent signings to replace the guys we lost.
2. Who are you most excited about adding to your organization?
SP Allen DeWitt. He's definitely in the tail end of his career, but we got him on a low risk 1 year $8 million deal, and I'm hopeful that he will be able to have success with our strong outfield defence. He's my equivalent of what Bartolo Colon is for the 2017 Braves. A solid older pitcher who can eat innings and keep us competitive while our young pitchers develop.
3. Who are you going to miss the most from last years team?
Honestly, nobody. We didn't lose that many players, and most of the players we did lose were garbage anyways.
4. Do you have any prospects poised to make the team?
Lots! 19 year old 4 star prospect RF Hector Barrera will likely start in AAA, but he will have a chance in Spring Training to win the starting RF job. 3.5 star prospect SS Jorge Lima will have an opportunity to win a spot on the opening day roster, and if not will be the first callup in case of an injury. 3 star pitching prospect SP Joel Mitchinson will very likely be in the opening day rotation.
There are also a bunch of prospects that will be in line to make the team for 2043.
5. If the league reset, and you had the top pick in the draft of every player, who would you take?
I think that it has to be CF Duane Henson. If he reaches his potential he has Mike Trout level ability.
6. It's been a few years since i asked this question. Which team, today, is your biggest rival?
The San Diego Padres are our biggest rival, as we've had many exciting close division races throughout the past decade. It is a friendly rivalry though - there is no team that I want to beat more than the Padres , but there is also no team/GM that I respect more than Ron and the Padres.
7. Will you win a World Series in the next 5 years?
Probably not. The NL West is going to be a really tough division for us to compete in even with out talent coming up. I think that in a couple years we can get a wild card, but there are so many good GMs in the PBL these days that having success in the playoffs will be very difficult.
8. Do you own OOTP18?
Not yet...
9. predict the World Series. Winner/Loser/games....
Pittsburgh over Minnesota in 5 games

1. In general, how do you think your offseason went?
In a word, Meh. No real big additions. The team is primarily the same as from last season.
2. Who are you most excited about adding to your organization?
Well no one really. I had to bring Jason Wilson back for one more year (the owner LOVES him), but he may get a little less playing time as I want to see what Kokawa can do. He hit 45 HRs in AAA on 2040. I am also looking forward to Gonzalez. Two strong young catchers.
3. Who are you going to miss the most from last years team?
Well Cashmann is out for the first few months, will miss his bat (really missed it in the playoffs last year)
4. Do you have any prospects poised to make the team?
Maybe not this year, but have my two Harry twins (Lawson and Wilson) who will likely be in AAA by the end of the year and will be on the team in 2043. After a decent rookie season hoping that Simpson can really bring it this year.
5. If the league reset, and you had the top pick in the draft of every player, who would you take?
Jhoan Brown….no question
6. It's been a few years since i asked this question. Which team, today, is your biggest rival?
In the AL the teams I want to beat the most are Oakland/Cleveland/Baltimore; in division Texas
7. Will you win a World Series in the next 5 years?
Came within one game last year so I hope so.
8. Do you own OOTP18?
Not yet.
9. predict the World Series. Winner/Loser/games....

1. In general, how do you think your offseason went?
Pretty well. I think I jumped the gun a little and could have sat back a little longer, at least when it comes to bats, but overall, we have a pretty similar team to last year, maybe a little better, especially in the rotation, where the middle has been strengthened with Anthony Bernier and the return of Fernando Ramirez for a full season.
2. Who are you most excited about adding to your organization?
Free agent acquisition Millard Nosworthy...Okay, actual new addition...hmm, no one I signed really excites me, they are mostly solid, middle of the road guys, who aren't all that exciting. I am excited to have a full season of the BP trio of Schneider, Trowsdale, and King.
3. Who are you going to miss the most from last years team?
Going to miss Forest Kol, who has been our starting catcher the last 6 seasons. Wanted to resign him, but just didn't have the many and didn't trust that he would last late enough into FA where we could afford him. In his 6 seasons, he has tallied up 25.1 WAR.
4. Do you have any prospects poised to make the team?
While he has actually been on the team for a couple seasons, I am hoping that SP Armando Gonzalez will finally take a step forward and be a part of our rotation. Other than that, it's a bunch of old guys mostly. One guy to watch is CF Cale Sherman in AAA, who looks to be our CF of the future. Given Chris Browns injury history, Sherman could get the call at some point.
5. If the league reset, and you had the top pick in the draft of every player, who would you take?
If I was ignoring age, would be Orlando Perez. He still managed to get a 5.9 WAR last season even with only getting 21 starts due to injuries. If I was taking age into account, then Jhoan Brown.
6. It's been a few years since i asked this question. Which team, today, is your biggest rival?
I think since I actually won the NL East once, I can now finally call the Pirates my rival.
7. Will you win a World Series in the next 5 years?
Honestly, no, I feel like my best shot was last season, and it's going to be hard to repeat that, and a lot of my core is getting up there in age, especially the rotation.
8. Do you own OOTP18?
Not yet, I'm poor.
9. predict the World Series. Winner/Loser/games...
The Pirates roar back and take their revenge on me and the league, defeating the Red Sox in 6 games.

1. In general, how do you think your off season went?>It went well, I think. My prospects continue to develop (#1 rated minor league system now, the patience is paying off) and I dinked and dunked a few minor signings to give me some depth. 2. Who are you most excited about adding to your organization?>No one. Everyone I am excited about is an internal player. 3. Who are you going to miss the most from last years team?>No one. Right now it's all about the development of the prospects. 4. Do you have any prospects poised to make the team?>Thank you for asking! 1. In general, how do you think your offseason went?
I actually had a good amount of money to spend, not too many holes to fill. We feel our patience paid off.
2. Who are you most excited about adding to your organization?
Well, it has to be Will Taylor. Dude is a legit ace. I for very frustrated watching walks after walks in bad situations last year. Pitch counts went up, the bullpen worked more then they should have. Will Taylor, doesn't do that crap. Efficient excellence. Im looking forward to watching him do his thing.
3. Who are you going to miss the most from last years team?
Bob Phillips has been with the club for a few few years. I wanted him back, but waited too long and then made a low ball offer. It's probably actually better he didn't sign, as i ended up needing that money, but Phillips did a very good job in his time here, and i wish him and the Reds success!
4. Do you have any prospects poised to make the team?
Domingo Mava, I feel, is the first legit prospect we have had in year that will actually become a Oriole. I think he looks like a stud. I hope he performs that way. He will be in the starting rotation come opening day.
5. If the league reset, and you had the top pick in the draft of every player, who would you take?
If Bryant Chaney was a few years younger!!! Phillip Boucher, he's a middle infielder, with amazing offense. Something that is rare.
6. It's been a few years since i asked this question. Which team, today, is your biggest rival?
Boston. I watch all their moves. I pay attention to their results. Derek is a great GM, and competing with him and the Red Sox keeps me on my toes!
7. Will you win a World Series in the next 5 years?
I really want to, and i hope to be in the mix, but this game is cruel. You never know if you will get another chance.
8. Do you own OOTP18?
I do
9. predict the World Series. Winner/Loser/games....
Blue Jays over Mets in 6 games.....IN REAL LIFE

1. In general, how do you think your offseason went? It went well, some extremely expensive unproductive contracts ended and we didn't lose anybody we didn't want to lose. Found an average RF and a DH to bat against lefties (Wilson Martinez is still under contract unfortunately)
2. Who are you most excited about adding to your organization? Joe Garciapar could have a comeback season with the strength of this defense.
3. Who are you going to miss the most from last years team? Bob Saver was a great defender and solid lead-off man against lefties but there was no room for him in the outfield.
4. Do you have any prospects poised to make the team? Todd Boucher and Randolph Rojas just need to improve their control a bit more and then they will be very good bullpen options.
5. If the league reset, and you had the top pick in the draft of every player, who would you take? maybe biased but Raymond "Sheeeeeep" Page
6. It's been a few years since i asked this question. Which team, today, is your biggest rival? Don't have one yet, Pirates I guess cuz nobody thinks I can beat them to take the NL.
7. Will you win a World Series in the next 5 years? Yeah, planning on 4 World Series out of those 5 years.
8. Do you own OOTP18? Nope, I don't like purchasing a game that expensive when its just an annual release game. I wait for the price to drop and to see if it is an actual improvement and if the improvements are to things I care about.
9. predict the World Series. Winner/Loser/games.... Dodgers over A's in 5
