We have been playing the same inter league schedule that last couple of years. Is it a major hassle to shake that up? Is that something the league wants? I am dying for a Padres/Royals match up.

Me too. I want my shot at the mighty royals. That GM is sooooo cocky and needs to be brought back down to earth. Lol

On more than one occasion, Anthony has highlighted repeating schedules as an issue. Is there a setting that would auto-generate a new schedule? Since this issue has been raised more than once, my guess is that the setting does not exist. Given that, would it be possible to establish a league event, or something similar, to ensure that a new (i.e., different from the last season) schedule is generated each off-season? In San Francisco we would love to see the Padres and the Royals beat themselves to a pulp with the Padres weakened enough from the series to be unable to successfully compete against their NL West foes.

Ron... you know you said that out loud, right? Be careful what you wish for, buddy. Don't let a trio of World Series appearances fool you. You and I have a 25 year established history of me kicking your ass. If Derek ever arranges a series between us, I will drown you in Royal blue. Regards, Tim / KC

Yeah I'm wondering that too. I'd love to play a different schedule.

Is there any thought into making the schedule more unbalanced? Right now we only get 14 games against each team in our division, which isn't very many especially with only 4 teams per division. What about increasing that to 18 games, which is more in-line with what the MLB does and would give each team 3 home series.

I sent a PM to Ron when he first posted this, right away, with some ideas. There is an almost ready-made schedule that comes with the game that features: - Between 12-15 division games (against the 3 others in your division) in basically a 7h/8a, 8h/7a or 6h/6a format
- A consistent 3h/3a against all others in the same league
- And 3 games against ALL teams in the other league in basically a 3h/0a or 0h/3a format
Scheduling is not easy for OOTP, especially balancing an equal number of games in all three areas above over 162 games per team and certainly not for a 32-team (or 30 for that matter) league.
But I do think this would be an AWESOME road to follow where every team plays every other team in the league each season. There are always PROS and CONS of course, but for an online league I think it would be great.
The OOTP convention is roughly - if you utilize a "single" file for the league - then the match-ups will be juggled year-over-year (YoY). In the case of the file I mentioned, for example, it would mean you would match up against a different divisional opponent at the start of a season, YoY. That "juggling" variation is not linear however, so you will not be assured of, for example, an alternating 0h/3a and 3h/0a with interleague by simply using the one file (but it still is relatively randomized YoY).
You can also "link" in order to "rotate" similar files, for variety, YoY, but the moment you incorporate a second (or third, etc.) file then the game will simply use those files as written and not juggle anything at all (it would then fall upon the user to vary the files YoY manually - a very tedious, but certainly not impossible, job in it's most basic sense - like simply "flipping" the home/away dates YoY as one example).
There are some minor limitations with the file, used either, but it does provide full interleague and IMHO would be a great step for PBL!
I have done some testing in a solo league and have shared some of that with Ron already. Naturally the ultimate decision will be that of the Commissioner and his team.

I hate the idea of playing all 16 american league teams. Thats 48 meaningless games, as you do not battle them for playoff seeding. Id vote for absolutely no interleague games.

Abolish the AL and NL. make 4 divisions of 8 teams each (or i guess 8 divisons of 4 works still too) and put them into one big league.
