I didn't want to include new images yet because I'd rather just have them all and then bang out the web reports etc.
So here is what we will do.
-Your rosters are all set - you can go in and make your lineups (with DH) and rotation.
- Those will be due by WEDNESDAY 7pm est.
- On Wednesday night whatever logos/unis/nicknames I have from you or your commish will be in. I'll update if I have late arrivals, but I will stop begging to make your league look good from that point.
- I will obviously pull all exports in and then I will auto generate all new names.
- At this point I will also delete ALL free agents. Which means if you cloned off of Matt Harvey, the real Matt Harvey is currently a free agent - he will be gone on Wednesday night, so if you need anything (stats etc), go get them now and save them somewhere.
- This should in theory make the file very small. It's not about the past, it's about what these 25 guys do for you.
- I will also edit all franchise settings such as "fan interest" it. I don't want it to impact anything - so everybody will just be set to even.
I'll then upload that file with full images (should be okay since players deleted), and then we will start on THURSDAY with games 1-7 in the regular season.
All exports deadlines at 7pm est.
Keep in mind - we are simming the regular season straight through, no days off. 7 games per night. When we hit the tournament, we'll take a little breather.

A quick clarification RE the logos: Because of the situation with the MLB license for OOTP 16, we have to be very, very careful about how we use their trademarks outside of any approved usage, which includes historical and minor league logos. (You should see how they're scrutinizing the use of logos in 16 -- I'm not exaggerating when I say they're pretty much going down to the pixel level.)
While online leagues are free to use real team names all they want, in any version of OOTP, they can't be used in any official OOTP Developments usage, beyond what's been formally approved by them, and only in the context of OOTP 16. And the GCL is an official OOTP Dev event. (Online leagues can do whatever they want because we have no control over what someone does with our game when they're using their own server space, or paying for Fidel's service. MLB can't hold us accountable for that.)
Sorry, I know that's a major pain for the leagues that use real team names, but I'm handcuffed here, and given current stress levels in Hamburg, I can't risk doing anything that could cause problems for Markus. (It's not like he's getting mad, or anything like that -- It's just that he's made it clear to me that I need to watch all the PR and marketing stuff we're doing, so he doesn't get heat from MLB if there's a misstep.)
However, for those who don't know, Justafan made a logo creation utility that should come in handy so you can create something quick for your team:

To piggy back on this...because of the license issues I have decided to fictionally rename all players. You are gonna get a file with their mlb names first so u can see everything as it was when you chose to make your team. But after that, its not all about your 25 man rosters and not about the past etc. So when we go public everybody will be renamed. I want this league to represent as much about online play as possible and the only way to include logos, uni, cap is to not have the players using real names. I would prefer to have a complete looking league. Plus this way we dont have 32 Matt Harvey's pitching on the same day

RE the real player issue: Like Mike said, it would be silly to have Matt Harvey vs. Matt Harvey in half (or more) of the opening slate of games.
But also, if we use real players, we can’t use their images, nor even a generic FaceGen image on the same player profile, because we don’t have an MLBPA license and we don’t want to run afoul of them. MLB doesn’t care, but we have a higher profile now, so MLBPA could come knocking.
So, Markus said we would have to either have no player image or use that generic OOTP 15 player picture, which wasn’t optimal. (He didn’t want even a generic FaceGen image because it’s too close to realistic, and, again, we could run into MLBPA issues.)
It thus made sense to convert the players to fictional names so we could have FaceGen pics with nice-looking caps and jerseys.

Harvey, Strasburg, and Paco Rodriguez were most popular arms for sure
Stanton, Trout, Puig were for hitters
Holt and Bailey too were named that stuck out
