damn, the Yankees were a very good team last year - and now with some very good deals this off season they look positively scary. Meanwhile, I don't think there's been another trade in the AL East all off-season?! Looks like a super close division has been blown open this winter? I am glad I am not in that division or AL I wouldnt want to try and hit against that rotation that much. Inter-league is enough! Its a rotation of Aces. But again the one I have to play against in Pitt is pretty good as well. I will be definitely cheering for a Subway series this year. haha

MR Wilkin Rodrgiuez. 2yr/2.3mil Rodriguez will come in and be a long reliever for the Cardinals and he also provides depth as a starter, which is always needed if you have my luck. Rodriguez did very well in the bullpen last year and I expect him to thrive in St. Louis
SP Xin Ming 3yr/5.2 mil Ming doesn't have any fancy ratings but man this guy has been consistent. Im pretty sure he had the best ERA in the AL last year while in a hitters park and I only got him for 5 mil a year? seems like a steal. He will come in and be our #3 pitcher . I am really excited Ming decided to pitch for the Cards.
And I believe the Cards have added the most WAR this offseason than any other team and we have only signed 2 FA. successful offseason

The M's aims this off season was to shed some of the financial load, finally bring in some specs and get a draft pick high enough that we might sign a future SP.... and we wanted to do all of that whilst remaining competitive with the new GMs in the AL West. Basically I'm trying a mini rebuild whilst continuing to win the West!
We dealt Giancarlo Stanton RF, our huge RHB slugger to the DBacks. That moved $20m+ in salary but got a boat load of talent back (three batting specs currently in my AAA, a serviceable ML LF and the #3 pick in the draft).
The Mariner's have only once drafted in the top half of R1 (last year) and so having the #3 is my first chance to draft a truly exceptional SP spec since the league started. I'm still hopeful about Chris Robinson's (SP) potential so that we have a couple of guys coming through as Key Sampson fades away.
To replace Stanton we're platooning two players with big splits vs. RHP/LHP - Luis Guzman moved cheaply from Oakland's infield to the Mariner's outfield vs. lefties ($6.5m for probably 40 games a year?!). I have a bunch of average players who can play the other side of the platoon - Jason Bailey, Alejandro Rivera and Raul Guerrero will fight it out. There's no denying that at RF our ML roster took a big step backwards this off season.
So we needed another RHB to make me feel better about Stanton leaving and found one with the requisite high OBP - Jorge Polanco 2B. Polanco, like Luiz Guzman has underperformed in the PBL - so taking a risk here but difficult to get away from that 'eye' rating of '10'! I'm hoping Polanco + Guzman + AN Another LHB is a wash with Stanton's exit. Another area where we've gone backwards is defense - Polanco is barely capable, and we'll miss Stanton's gold gloves in RF.
In terms of free agents - we never make any big moves - they're free agents for a reason! Still, Morgan Thomas OF looks like an ok #5OF vs LHP. Daniel Sandberg took a ratings hit on the day he arrived and looks like AAA cannon fodder - a complete waste of money!
I'm going with the same rotation that got me to the World Series last year, because I wasn't willing to put my specs and picks on the market to get a new ace and our bullpen looks wrecked.
In terms of WAR, with Holman and Stanton leaving we managed a -9.5WAR this off season! That won't be so bad if I can get better performance out of the players - but it'll be a lot closer than the 16 game margin in 2023. The Mariners final road trip is 4 in Colorado and 3 in Oakland, If I need a 4-3 sim to get into the playoffs from those two series it'll have been a another very good year. (and then we'll lose in the playoffs).

Small signing for A's as we picked up Middle Reliever, Ed Ellis who has spent his entire 7-year career in Tampa. In five of those seasons he had a sub-4 ERA and I'm hoping he can do the same as one of our middle relievers. More of a depth signing than anything...

We were in for three final free agents, and picked up two of them. The final FA additions for the Yankees are both natural RFs, Jack Hogan and Jose Rivero.
This should complete our roster. We may still make some moves, but we no longer have to. With a little depth in AAA, especially OF depth, we should be set, but a couple more moves my follow.
