06/10/13 Texas Rangers (36-20, Road: 14-10) at Seattle Mariners (36-20, Home: 18-12) Projected Pitchers: TEX: LHP T.Matzek (6-3, 3.14 ERA) SEA: RHP Y.Gallardo (3-5, 4.55 ERA)
The Rangers and Mariners battle it atop the American League in this week's edition of PBL Pick'em.
The Rangers boast one of the best pitching staffs in baseball, and have been lights out so far in 2013. Their team ERA of 3.57 is tops in the league, and by a fair margin (Tampa Bay is 2nd at 3.71, Seattle is 3rd at 3.97). Tyler Matzek, 2012's AL Rookie of the Year, will take the mound for Texas.
If you haven't been paying attention, the Mariners may have been a bit of a surprise. Several deals made over the past season have really turned this Seattle squad into a force to be reckoned with. Brett Wallace (acquired in the Prince Fielder trade from BOS) looks like a man on a mission, Ubaldo Jimenez (formerly COL) looks like a good pitcher free of Coors Field. yet Yovani Gallardo (from CLE), tonight's starter, has been league-average at best.
Still, it should be an interesting game to watch. Submit your picks now!

If you haven't been paying attention, the Mariners may have been a bit of a surprise. only a surprise if you hadnt noticed we were in the World Series a couple of years back, and won the AL West in both the first two years of the PBL.

Are there any other GMs that picked the Mariners for 2013's best team in the PBL? If not, then I don't think its a stretch to say that you guys are exceeding expectations.

I think the majority had the M's in the WC spot (which is where i think we'll finish) - long, long way to go yet obviously - but it's nice that we're at least keeping close to the mighty Rangers right now
