04/07/13 Atlanta (0-0) at Washington (0-0) Projected Starters
ATL: Stephen Strasburg (12-3, 2.58) WAS: Dan Haren (15-9, 3.37 ERA)
* Last season's stats
In a battle of trendy picks to win the National League, the young, exciting Braves visit the young, exciting Nationals with each team anxious to make a statement to start the season off.
Stephen Strasburg comes off a dominant 31-strike out, 22-inning, 1.23 ERA postseason performance that showed the PBL why he could be the best pitcher in baseball. Needing an ace to follow suit, the Nationals acquired Dan Haren, who was last seen going the distance to close out the World Series, allowing one run on six hits without a walk to vanquish the Dodgers.
Will Adam Dunn supply the power the Braves need to field a special offense? Will Jason Heyward supply enough offense, and Haren enough innings to mask a mediocre bullpen? Will either team jump out with a win to start 2013 and never look back?
Finally baseball returns to the PBL!

Strasburg better strike out 15+ in this game. That game 5 performance he turned on me was heart wrenching. No mortal should be able to strike out 15 Rockies in a single game!

5-3 Nationals, MVP is Jason Heyward **edited to change my MVP pick, didn't know this game was so limited and couldn't reward good pitching **

Haren is a good gap hitter, but I doubt he'll be the offensive MVP of the game!!!

Is it offensive player of the game or just player of the game? If Stras' strikes out 15 in a 1-0 win and the only run is on an error, then the guy scoring gets MVP or would Stras? Not sure how this plays.
