08/13/12 Atlanta Braves (60-51) at St. Louis Cardinals (62-48) Projected Pitchers: ATL: Wandy Rodriguez (4.18 ERA, 9-8) STL: Chris Carpenter (3.18 ERA, 8-4)
The Braves visit the Cardinals in these week's edition of PBL Pick'em. This game features two teams vying for their respective division titles, and at this point in the season, every game counts.
The Braves enter Monday having lost their last 3 games in a row, and 7 out of their past 10 games. Starting pitcher Wandy Rodriguez has gone 6 straight starts without a win, and has seen his ERA balloon from 2.91 to 4.18 over that span. In those past 6 games, Rodriguez has given up 12 homeruns, and will need to curb this trend if he wants to help carry his team into October.
The Cardinals have been more fortunate post-all-star break, having ridden a 14-7 record to first place in the NL Central. They lead the idle second place Cincinnati Reds by a mere half game margin, and look to extend that lead to a full game. Chris Carpenter makes the start for the Cards, hoping to improve upon his 8-4 campaign record.
The Cardinals lead the season series 2-1.

Let's keep the picks rolling in. I would love if we were consistently above 20+ picks a sim.
I know we have enough forum activity to achieve this....

Mets take this round of PBL Pick'em, narrowly avoiding a three-way tie. Congrats!
Please submit your pick for next week's game (8/20).

I'll go with a pretty nice matchup when Boston visits Texas. Randy Wells has been phenominal for Boston since being traded and Chien-Ming Wang is earning every penny of his big 5 year contract.
