07/23/12 Colorado Rockies at San Francisco Giants Projected Pitchers: COL: Aaron Cook (5.05 ERA, 3-6) SFN: Justin Verlander (2.32, 10-0)
With the Giants fading in the NL West, each game between them and the division-leading Rockies becomes more and more important. The G-men will have to close the gap sooner than later, which makes this this three game set more important than most people realise.
This series will feature two of the best pitching staffs in the National League, and one of the premier offenses. The Giants have been hampered by injury and poor luck all season, and will look to build off of their offensive outburst against the Cubs the previous Sunday. Justin Verlander will look to continue his perfection, which has lasted through the All-Star break, and now stands at 10-0.
The Rockies bats will make it tougher on Verlander than usual, but are missing a key offensive cog in Carlos Gonzalez, who is out with a core injury. Gonzalez's absence should not hamper the Rockies' potency in any way, and will hit freely should they make it to the Giants' soft underbelly of a bullpen. Aaron Cook will make the start for Colorado, and has limped to a 3-6 record despite being backed by the Rockies' bats.

Sam wins... again. I got this one out plenty early, and you'd think with the deadline coming out there'd be more activity.
At any rate, congrats to the Mariners, and pick our game for 7/30.

the hottest team in baseball right now? the Rays? Rockies? maybe the Rangers?
Nope, it's the Los Angeles Angels of Disneyland... 19-6 in July?!
Can they continue the hot steak when they visit Kansas on 07/30?
