Here we will discuss the foundation of the league. Rules, financials, etc.

Thinking 8 teams, 2 divisions. 2 teams make playoffs each league
KC, I will tell you what, win a World Series and I will thrown the crown on top to commemorate your victory, lol.

I like my idea of un-retiring any PBL-ers that retire and adding them to the FA pool of the World League. If you make the league indepentant you can set it that the PBL can't sign anybody from that FA pool so there's no chance of any of them returning to the PBL

Also see how many people are interested before deciding league structure.
No DH ? Promotion & Relegation ? No minors, just 15 man reserve roster ? Manually add pre-season opener WL v PBL ?

Here are my thoughts on settings:
- no minors, just a reserve roster - put some foreigner limit in, perhaps that teams have to have some percentage of their team be the same nationality as the team - DH for sure. The only major professional league in the world that doesn't have one is the National League. - revenue sharing

Also, we need to make sure that we set the saber player creation metrics (or whatever they're called) to that of AAA or lower level. We don't want the game creating ML level players for the WL.
-Reserve rosters -Foreigner limit, if this works as the Reds have detailed this is a great idea -DH on (even if it pains me) -Separate FA pool for now - Lowered financials; setting up the basis for a posting system

Commish, I can walk you through the whole foreigner limit setup if we decide to go that route and you need a hand.

And I can help out with the player creation metrics.

I will take you both up on that offer. This World league is definitely going to be a team effort.

If you set the foreigner limit to something small like 5 - 10 players you may get some English players coming through into the PBL from the English franchises

So are you going to helm the London Bullocks?

How about no finances, just a standard minor league contract? At least for a trial, should make those who join PBL via posting very happy to change leagues

Maybe later, a few seasons down the line, this could be used as the basis for the PBL winter leagues where you could loan promising youngsters to the WL which would have it's season moved to the PBL off-season
Perhaps also have an upper age limit so perhaps on reaching 27 / 28 they either get posted or retire ( or maybe just hang round the PBL FA pool )

This is a fantastic idea Nigel! The TPBL really missed out on a great GM in you.
+1 to the winter leagues idea. I think that would be really something (and really unique) if we could execute it properly (the only problem being having to deal with contracts; and even that shouldn't be too much of a hassle really).

I would think it would just be a case of the commish using his super commish powers to transfer them to WL and back again as the youngsters would only have minor league contracts especially if the WL had no finances or perhaps a standard minor league contract for all (see an idea of mine earlier in this thread)
