1. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them?I've played the last couple of seasons rather conservatively, balancing between not selling off the team and rebuilding with adding key pieces to remain competitive without giving up key prospects. Now with some actual youth performing well (Donald Alston, Vincente Juarez) and some prospects developing nicely (Jo Sato, Ger de Rijk) to the point where they will make their big league debuts, my goal this offseason was to further strengthen some key positions, namely 3B and CF. At 3B, we added Anadhrishya Venktesh and Dave Flynn for a potent RH/LH tandem. If we can nail down long term contracts, we should be set at a tough position for us historically. In CF, Conan Davis was added to balance the lineup a bit more in lefties. I'd say we accomplished our goal. 2. What would your team's most cynical and optimistic fans say about the upcoming season?Optimistic fan: Wow we added some talent though the free agent market and might actually start, not one, but two rookies this season? Did we just rebuild without a single losing season?!?! 3. How good are your odds for winning your division? If you don't, what team is most likely to?Always a tough question to answer in the NL West. Arizona came within a hair of the division last year. Both Arizona and San Francisco added to their teams this offseason and should be better. I'm hopeful of our winning the division and would give myself better than even odds (but not much better . 4. Which player in your organization has the best chance of eventually being voted into the Hall of Fame?Jim King and John Howe and if a DH gets through, maybe Kata Okada. This is the easy answer since these guys have a already solid resume. To go out on a limb on a young guy, I like Ger de Rijk and his stuff to get him to some astronomical strikeout rates. 5. If the line is set at 106.5 games, are you taking the over or under for best 2061 PBL record?Over for sure. And maybe more than one team. This league is too top heavy to take the under. The AL South, if mathematically possible, could have 3 alone. 6. We have a genuine OOTP rookie in the league this season. What one piece of advice would you give Brandon to succeed?
Patience, it's a marathon and not a sprint. Give yourself some short term goals, sign a couple of popular players to sell some tickets and develop a farm to deal from. 7. What is your 2061 PBL World Series prediction? Winner lose and how many games? I hate this question, because its such a shot in the dark. Let's avoid the usual suspects and go with the Giants get hot in the playoffs but run into trouble as the Rays demolish the AL to win it all.

1. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them?
My goals for this offseason were to make our glaring weaknesses less weak. I feel like that goal was accomplished, I feel a lot better about where we are at this season at CF, 2B and 3B with the acquisitions of José Contreras, José Cabral, and Bill McKeown. 2. What would your team's most cynical and optimistic fans say about the upcoming season?Optimistic: I like what they did in the off season, maybe they can stay competitive through most of the season. Cynical: I don't know why they are throwing money into a team that isn't going to win anything. 3. How good are your odds for winning your division? If you don't, what team is most likely to?
Pretty terrible, I'm hoping to stay around .500 and the rest of the NL West is definitely thinking playoffs. I have to go with the Padres but the Giants and D-backs definitely have a good shot too. 4. Which player in your organization has the best chance of eventually being voted into the Hall of Fame?
We added Carl Holmes in free agency on a two year deal, I know I'm new to the league but he seems like a first ballot HOFer to me. 5. If the line is set at 106.5 games, are you taking the over or under for best 2061 PBL record?
Over, as Rich stated the league is top heavy so I think the odds of no team getting to 107 wins are low. 6. We have a genuine OOTP rookie in the league this season. What one piece of advice would you give Brandon to succeed?
Be resourceful and ask questions if you're not sure about something. OOTP can be a lot to take in on it's own and when you add playing in a league against people who mostly know what they're doing it doesn't make it easier. If you're not sure on a mechanic, system or event in the game ask someone about it, read the manual and/or watch a video on youtube. Carl has a good post on the forum for player's specifically new to the PBL that I think any newcomer should definitely read it. 7. What is your 2061 PBL World Series prediction? Winner lose and how many games? The Astros are too good for me not to at least have them make the WS, I'll go Nationals over the Astros in a thrilling 7 game series.

1. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them?Get better by making the best choices to continue as Expos, based on a better than usual finish last season. There may actually be some hope in Montreal for 2061. But it's still early. 2. What would your team's most cynical and optimistic fans say about the upcoming season? This is STILL not the year. This IS the year!
3. How good are your odds for winning your division? If you don't, what team is most likely to?Not to get ahead of ourselves, but if the planets align and the injury bug only occasionally nibbles, instead of biting, we may actually challenge for the division. Oh, it may very well be another worst of the best situations compared to other division champs, but finishing atop any division is an accomplishment. If not us, at this moment in time, I would still fully expect the Mets to be there in the end.
4. Which player in your organization has the best chance of eventually being voted into the Hall of Fame?I think Jeffrey Jones probably tops our list currently. But I do have a couple of youngsters that could put it together and challenge for a spot in the Hall down the road.
5. If the line is set at 106.5 games, are you taking the over or under for best 2061 PBL record?Over. And really glad he's no longer in the NL East.
6. We have a genuine OOTP rookie in the league this season. What one piece of advice would you give Brandon to succeed?Make a plan. Work the plan. Wait until you have a foot in the door before going all in.
7. What is your 2061 PBL World Series prediction? Winner lose and how many games? Houston repeats and takes San Diego in five games.

1. What goals did you have for this off season? coming off of 95 wins and a division title, the team had many free agent holes to fill. Free Agents: 1B Arroyo, DH Aitkenhead, OF Davis, CF Trujillo, RP Joseph, RP Vazquez, RP Maldano, IF Steele, C Villareal and IF Brune. Did you accomplish them? The team was able to extend Closer Joseph Lee but through free agents, trades and waiver pickups, the team appears to have filled its holes.
2. What would your team's most cynical and optimistic fans say about the upcoming season? All Mets fans are cynical by nature. They are probably not happy that all the Free agents left and expect winning only. Anything less is not acceptable. They will dissect all moves if things do not work out.
3. How good are your odds for winning your division? very good If you don't, what team is most likely to? Expos
4. Which player in your organization has the best chance of eventually being voted into the Hall of Fame? Lucas Winters has started off well, hopefully he continues and does not get hurt.
5. If the line is set at 106.5 games, are you taking the over or under for best 2061 PBL record? Under 106 wins is very tough to do.
6. We have a genuine OOTP rookie in the league this season. What one piece of advice would you give Brandon to succeed? Have fun, it is a game. Win or lose, it should be fun. Ask questions, most fellow GMs will help, they want GMS to stick around and become successful.
7. What is your 2061 PBL World Series prediction? Have to roots for my Mets. Winner lose and how many games? Mets over Houston in 7.

1. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them?
We're always looking to get better (followed by 31 forehead-slaps from other GMs saying, "Damn! Why didn't I think of that?") I think we added some good pieces and the team is deeper than last year. But we just got news that our promising 2B Jason Miller will miss the season with a concussion. That hurts us offensively and up the middle. I don't feel as good about the off season as I did 24 hours ago.
2. What would your team's most cynical and optimistic fans say about the upcoming season?
Cynical: How long can you ride those fragile old pitchers? Cue the opening montage from "Major League."
Optimist: Jason Miller will be back in May!
3. How good are your odds for winning your division? If you don't, what team is most likely to?
I think any of us can win it, but Detroit is the team to beat until someone actually does it.
4. Which player in your organization has the best chance of eventually being voted into the Hall of Fame?
Kip Blue has had a great career. I hope he gets in. Dan Nicholson has a shot, but if I have to choose one guy my money is on Alonso Castillo. Lead-off hitters don't have sexy stat lines, but Alonso can make the Hall if he plays long enough.
5. If the line is set at 106.5 games, are you taking the over or under for best 2061 PBL record?
I was going to take the under but Rich talked me out of it.
6. We have a genuine OOTP rookie in the league this season. What one piece of advice would you give Brandon to succeed?
Watch what the successful GMs do, learn from them, and be okay with knowing you will never be as good as they are. If you put together a good team you can still win it all. 7. What is your 2061 PBL World Series prediction? Winner lose and how many games?
Young Skywalker finally hits the exhaust port and blows up the Death Star. Milwaukee over Houston in six. Don't always throw to first base. Use the force, Luke!

1. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them?
I was looking to upgrade the league's worse offense and wanted to add another starting pitcher. It cost me $382 million but I did get the pitcher signing 22 year old Fernando Cruz. But the offense....Adding Mike Aitkenhead while losing Carl Holmes is a minimal upgrade at best. This team is again going to struggle to score runs and to win games.
2. What would your team's most cynical and optimistic fans say about the upcoming season?
Yankee fans are justifiably upset with the direction this team has gone since I have taken over. Despite my vast resources I have failed to put a competitive team on the field and they have no optimism that things are going any better in the near future. #fire McKenzie is trending
3. How good are your odds for winning your division? If you don't, what team is most likely to?
In any other division I would say Zero, but this is the AL Least so I have to give myself a 5% chance to end up on top, but the fact is this division will get better eventually and I am in danger of being left far behind. My guess is the Red Sox will take the title, but the bigger question is will anyone in this division have a winning record.
4. Which player in your organization has the best chance of eventually being voted into the Hall of Fame?
No one on this current squad should even be allowed to visit Cooperstown, let alone be voted in. Like mentioned by the Dodgers above- recently departed Carl Holmes deserves to get in on the first ballot.
5. If the line is set at 106.5 games, are you taking the over or under for best 2061 PBL record?
II am going to go Under, lot's of teams are getting better.
6. We have a genuine OOTP rookie in the league this season. What one piece of advice would you give Brandon to succeed?
Be patient and accumulate as many assets as you can. Don't make win now moves until you have a foundation of young talent, but most important have Fun!
7. What is your 2061 PBL World Series prediction? Winner lose and how many games?
You never look dumb picking Shane to win it all - so I'm going Astros over the Nationals in 6

1. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them?
The overall strategy is to wait for the farm to develop so there was not much to do. I was able to fill my gaping hole at catcher via a minor FA signing and a RV draft pick up. So, yeah, I guess I accomplished the goals.
2. What would your team's most cynical and optimistic fans say about the upcoming season?
cynical: We suck. optimistic: Farm looks good so maybe someday we won't suck.
3. How good are your odds for winning your division? If you don't, what team is most likely to?
Slim to nil. NFC South belongs to the Nationals.
4. Which player in your organization has the best chance of eventually being voted into the Hall of Fame?
We are incredibly excited about catcher Curt Powell. Winning the lottery for the #1 overall pick in 2058 was really the driving factor in the decision to fire sell talent and launch a rebuild. We took Powell with that pick and his development to date is even exceeding our expectations. At 24 years old the plan for him is to smooth out the rough edges with at least one more season in AAA. But watching him blow up in Spring Training is making it hard to wait.
5. If the line is set at 106.5 games, are you taking the over or under for best 2061 PBL record?
There are several teams that could challenge that line but I think even with the top teams there is a luck factor that has to play out to hit 107. I'll take the under.
6. We have a genuine OOTP rookie in the league this season. What one piece of advice would you give Brandon to succeed?
Take a season or two to find your footing before making any major block buster moves.
7. What is your 2061 PBL World Series prediction? Winner lose and how many games? Rangers over the Nationals in 5.

1. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them?
My goals were to get another SP to fill out the rotation, add a couple of RPs to shore up the pen, and maybe figure out what to do with CF. Really only figured out the CF part with Augusto Flores because I botched free agency. Still, we return pretty much all of the important pieces of a very good squad from last year, so it wasn't catastrophic.
2. What would your team's most cynical and optimistic fans say about the upcoming season?
Optimists: Our offense is impossible to stop, and our pitching should be better with Gallaghe developing and Hernandez and Gregory joining the pen.
Pessimists: We've had this same core of guys for years now, and they can't get past the NLDS. Why will this year be different?
3. How good are your odds for winning your division? If you don't, what team is most likely to?
Atlanta pushed me for a while last year, and Carolina added Vargas, but I think I'm still the odds on favorite in the South.
4. Which player in your organization has the best chance of eventually being voted into the Hall of Fame?
Raymond Page has a 100% chance, so him. Jose Varquez is just shy of 50 WAR and he's only 31, so he's looking pretty good at this point. Aureliano Cervantes and Gerald Callahan have a chance if they stay productive until they're near 40.
5. If the line is set at 106.5 games, are you taking the over or under for best 2061 PBL record?
Under. That's a big number.
6. We have a genuine OOTP rookie in the league this season. What one piece of advice would you give Brandon to succeed?
Have a general plan. Stick to it, but be flexible in how you achieve it.
7. What is your 2061 PBL World Series prediction? Winner lose and how many games?
I usually try something contrarian here, but let's keep it simple this time. Brewers over Astros in 7.

1. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them? Build a new stadium to start a new philosophy and strategy. I did.
2. What would your team's most cynical and optimistic fans say about the upcoming season? Cynic -- New Stadium..same crappy team. Optimist -- New stadium..we're gonna win it all!!
3. How good are your odds for winning your division? If you don't, what team is most likely to? They're still not good. But, I truly believe we are not going to finish with a bottom 5 record. The Rockies are still the class of the division.
4. Which player in your organization has the best chance of eventually being voted into the Hall of Fame? Louis Ferneyhough...but, this is OOTP which doesn't treat pitching prospects well, and he's in Seattle which is where all great prospects go to die.
5. If the line is set at 106.5 games, are you taking the over or under for best 2061 PBL record? Over...We had 4 teams over 100 wins last season.
6. We have a genuine OOTP rookie in the league this season. What one piece of advice would you give Brandon to succeed? Ask questions and follow Shane and John's blueprint for success.
7. What is your 2061 PBL World Series prediction? Winner lose and how many games? Until someone proves me otherwise...Houston and Milwaukee and Houston repeats. 4 games to 2.

1. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them? Build a team that could make the playoffs. Yes I think we have an opportunity. 2. What would your team's most cynical and optimistic fans say about the upcoming season? You could always be critical than we haven't developed a legitimate power hitter. The optimistic fan would say watch out for us this season. 3. How good are your odds for winning your division? If you don't, what team is most likely to? I think we have a 50/50 shot. Watch out for Washington. They are always tough.
4. Which player in your organization has the best chance of eventually being voted into the Hall of Fame? Michael Andrade. He is the heart of the organization 5. If the line is set at 106.5 games, are you taking the over or under for best 2061 PBL record? Over. A lot of teams tanking so it could skew how effective a team is really. The best record doesn't mean you are the best team overall.
6. We have a genuine OOTP rookie in the league this season. What one piece of advice would you give Brandon to succeed? Be patient the first season. Look to evaluate talent. 7. What is your 2061 PBL World Series prediction? Winner lose and how many games? Nationals and Houston. Houston in 5

1. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them? Give ourselves some latitude in the financials so that we could extend Tony Moran, seen as an integral part of our relief pitching (over 100IP each of the 3 past seasons and totalled over 7 WAR). In addition to get a catcher after Rob Small turned down his option. This led to the trade of Ventkesh to the Padres which enabled more financial headroom and whilst Ventkesh is very good, we had Jorge Luna knocking very loudly at the 3B door. So Luna will slot straight into the vacancy left by Ventkesh with that trade bringing in Oliver Molina who will take over as the No.1 catcher (with a surname like Molina what other position could he be?) and also a top pitching prospect in Ted Morley.
2. What would your team's most cynical and optimistic fans say about the upcoming season? The Cynic - in reality you've added nothing of note and we've lost our pitching ace (Vasquez) for the season as he undergoes Tommy John surgery. Our starting pitching is young, wafer thin and our offense is carried by Kenzaburo Sato who simply cannot do it all on his own. We lucked into a World Series 2 seasons ago and since then we've failed to win the division and haven't pushed on. There is nothing here to suggest that the same results (2nd in the division, no playoff place) won't recur.
The Optimist - Wow that really is cynical. Luna will be great and with Wayne Dorsett, Tyler Hall, Duncan Phillips and Travis Collins bringing some much needed youth into the side and with the likes of Morley to come the future is still rosy. Defensively we are always solid and we're difficult to beat.
3. How good are your odds for winning your division? If you don't, what team is most likely to? I'd suggest we have no more than a 20% chance of winning the division. Colorado remain the class act and Oakland raised their game significantly last season also. If I had to name a division winner - Rockies all the way.
4. Which player in your organization has the best chance of eventually being voted into the Hall of Fame? Sato is class and at 28 has amassed two MVP's, six Golden Gloves and five all star appearances. Wayne Dorsett has the tools to go very far and I suspect he could become a league leader this season.
5. If the line is set at 106.5 games, are you taking the over or under for best 2061 PBL record? Good question. Looking at the teams involved there are a few teams who could do this. So I'll vote over.
6. We have a genuine OOTP rookie in the league this season. What one piece of advice would you give Brandon to succeed? Ask tons of questions and help when you need it - there are no silly questions. Also if it works in the real MLB it's likely to work in OOTP and vice versa. Don't neglect your minor leagues - invest time in getting them and your overall player development right and it will pay dividends.
7. What is your 2061 PBL World Series prediction? Winner lose and how many games? Houston and Milwaukee are really strong. But lets be different and go with Texas over San Diego in 7. Two good franchises, well coached and anything can happen in the playoffs.

1. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them?
I was a bit light on SP so I went out and picked up a few this of season to the point where I had too many pitchers without options so I will need to dump a few. So yes mission accomplished.
2. What would your team's most cynical and optimistic fans say about the upcoming season?
Cynical – How are Burt, Garcia, Smith and Collazo going to get their Abs? You should have traded one of those guys for pitching this offseason. You have a ton of money on contracts which is going to hurt you in the future. Why the heck is Rodriguez still on the roster, let Carmona get some ABs in the PBL (I have a lot of cynical fans). Optimistic – Man this offense is going to be loaded and fun to watch. Really excited to see Burt play a full season.
3. How good are your odds for winning your division? If you don't, what team is most likely to?
Any other division I would say pretty good…in the AL south I could win 107 games and still not win the division (shakes fist at HOU and TEX).
4. Which player in your organization has the best chance of eventually being voted into the Hall of Fame?
Maybe Tanaka (44 WAR at 29 years old), but I also think Garcia (15 WAR at 25 years old) is sneaky good.
5. If the line is set at 106.5 games, are you taking the over or under for best 2061 PBL record?
Over for sure. I think you will see three teams hitting 107 wins. PBL is very top heavy.
6. We have a genuine OOTP rookie in the league this season. What one piece of advice would you give Brandon to succeed?
Be leery of most trade offers your first few seasons. Wait at least a year and review trades that other teams make to get a good handle on talent evaluation.
7. What is your 2061 PBL World Series prediction? Winner lose and how many games?
If Tampa can win the division then I would pick them, but they won’t so Houston vs Mil 4 games to 2.

1. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them?
Clear a path to PBL playing time for catching prospect Bill Stevens. Traded Mauro Alfaro to the Red Sox.
Be aggressive to fill needs not only for this season but future years. Signing OF Jorge Fuentes is a move that fills a major area of need this year, but also can be a key part of hopefully competitive seasons to come. IFA 1B Fuentes needs some more seasoning in AAA, but he can fill a longterm spot in our offense for many seasons to come.
Upgrade the rotation with short term contracts. We're about a season and a half or so away from some of our top pitching prospects reaching the PBL, so the additions of Garcia and Pelton helped achieve this goal. Hopefully both can fill some much needed innings this year.
2. What would your team's most cynical and optimistic fans say about the upcoming season?
Cynical: This team used to be competitive, winning divisions and competing for titles. This rebuild is getting old.
Optimistic: Yes, the team hasn't been to the playoffs in 7 years. Truly rebuilding started 4 seasons ago, and last year was an improvement. How can you not be excited with the moves this team has made?
3. How good are your odds for winning your division? If you don't, what team is most likely to?
Compared to the past few seasons? Much improved. That being said, Milwaukee still is the heavy favorite, and Cincinnati would need some injuries to key Brewers, with some luck mixed in to take them down. The gap is closing though, and I would say Milwaukee's pitching is where their biggest edge is currently.
4. Which player in your organization has the best chance of eventually being voted into the Hall of Fame?
With so many young players, many will need longevity/luck to reach the PBL Hall of Fame. I'm going to go with 2B Zach Davis. In two seasons, Davis has 10.1 WAR and 90 HRs as a 2B. Other than Dustin Ackley, 2B has been a position that hasn't produced any other HOF players, and Davis has a chance to change that.
5. If the line is set at 106.5 games, are you taking the over or under for best 2061 PBL record?
Over, and it will be on the AL side of the PBL. I think with STL and CIN both getting better, it's going to make it more challenging for Milwaukee to reach that mark.
6. We have a genuine OOTP rookie in the league this season. What one piece of advice would you give Brandon to succeed?
Come up with a plan, and don't be afraid to make a move(s) to achieve that goal. You're not going to win every trade and you'll look back at some and wonder what you were thinking. Learn from the moves you make or the ones you didn't pull the trigger on.
7. What is your 2061 PBL World Series prediction? Winner lose and how many games?
Nationals vs Astros, with the Astros winning in 6. I think the Astros offense is the difference maker, with both teams having deep staffs.

1. What goals did you have for this off season? Did you accomplish them?
We had very minor goals. We do have a decent amount of money, but also players that in the next 1-2 will need to get paid. Therefore, we have to walk the tightrope on the contract side to stay competitive. 2. What would your team's most cynical and optimistic fans say about the upcoming season?Cynical - the pitching is not that great Optimistic - we can cover over the pitching is not that great. 3. How good are your odds for winning your division? If you don't, what team is most likely to?
I would put our division odds about 50/50, which would be the highest, but certainly not anything like a sure fire bet. Evenly split on Minnesota and Cleveland as the next likely. 4. Which player in your organization has the best chance of eventually being voted into the Hall of Fame?
I think it has to be Inagaki at this point, his last two season have him at just under 50 WAR for his career. He is still a middle infielder producing. I hope if he goes into the HOF it is as a Tiger since I am not sure we can sign him after this season. 5. If the line is set at 106.5 games, are you taking the over or under for best 2061 PBL record?
Over. 6. We have a genuine OOTP rookie in the league this season. What one piece of advice would you give Brandon to succeed?
I think I wrote a league article on just this subject 7. What is your 2061 PBL World Series prediction? Winner lose and how many games?I could try to be cute, but it is Houston over Milwaukee in six.
