Sean(Reds) was able to sand box and prove out a combination of settings that gives a GM access to the full revenue stream. While this make sense, I am concerned that the top revenue teams would be able to stock pile money and ultimately have unlimited access to virtually any free agent and trade target they desired. Max cash is limiting the buying power of the big revenue teams in an already unbalanced league. They literally cannot spend all of the resources they have so the max cash forces them to abandon money each season.
That being said, a savvy small market GM is trying to maximize their finances by falling below the max cash threshold while staying in the green. That is a pretty small window to target. I would like to see max cash increased.
In summary, I think full rollover is not a good thing, but an increase definitely has merit. I know there were other arguments for increasing max cash. Please update this thread with them.
Ultimately I think this is a good idea. It will take some work to find what the right number is.

I think this would be tempered somewhat if we switch to revenue sharing/income tax model.

At some point it might be worth outlining the settings proposed. Maybe after some additional comment?

I think it'd be worth noting that 1) I've already shared the results and settings with you and 2) It is not productive to act like you are unaware of it.

The testing I did was a different discussion than increasing max cash alone, and when an appropriate time comes we can have that discussion as a league.
Increasing max cash can be done a variety of ways, and my specific testing was based on getting rid of owners controlling budgets while at the same time increasing max cash to the max. David suggested bumping the max cash to $999 mil instead of the game suggested amount of zero, which lead to a 1 for 1 carry over of profits/losses to the starting cash balance when I tested it. Budgets were still set, but if you were making money you would keep it.
I am not advocating max cash carryover, and further discussion needs to be had on an appropriate number. It is my opinion that the $10 mil we currently have hurts successful low and mid budget teams.

Was just trying to see the settings proposed specifically for PBL. That's all. Not sure anyone here was even aware of a semi-private discussion in another league? Or cares? Believe it or not Sean, I am actually in favour of this idea. We are on the same side in this thread. I am just curious about what number you are suggesting the cash max be raised in PBL? And if that is all you would contemplate?
