Have you ever considered applying to be a baseball writer, for like fangraphs or something? Honestly I'm sure you could make a living doing stuff like this

Have you ever considered applying to be a baseball writer, for like fangraphs or something? Honestly I'm sure you could make a living doing stuff like this That's extremely flattering. I've never seriously considered it; the break-in salary for those positions tends to be pretty low which means that I'd have to do it part time in addition to my current job, which I love by the way. Combine that with my one year old and I'm not super-compelled to invest the time to try and get it going. I mean, if a site reached out (yeah right) and offered me a part-time gig where the pay to time invested ratio was sufficient, I'd absolutely do it. And if you know of anyone that would pay me money to write 200-300 pages on a Hall of Fame pyramid write-up . . . I'd be there in a heartbeat. But for the time being I really enjoy being the master of my fate and just writing the shit I love to write. And I happen to belong to an incredibly gracious league that, far beyond putting up with my uncontrollable verbosity, actually is incredibly supportive and encouraging of pretty much everything I crank out. For which I am endlessly grateful. I mean if the opportunity came up to do it for real, yeah, I'd certainly do it. But if all I ever do is write on this forum to the satisfaction of myself and this league, I should count that a great success.

As awesome as this all is, I do feel it's necessary to point out how severely you've underestimated the number of posts you'll need. If that's just catchers, you're going to need at least one post per position for the honorable mentions.

Yeah, don't remind me. I'm just doing my best here. Worst case scenario I'll bat my eyes at the forum admin and see what happens

Honorable Mention first basemen are done.
For those of you who are curious, the breakdowns into tiers are as follows so far:
Catchers: 11 Honorable Mentions / 9 Bronze / 4 Silver / 2 Gold / 2 Diamond / 1 Pantheon First Basemen: 13 Honorable Mentions / 10 Bronze / 5 Silver / 2 Gold / 1 Diamond / 1 Pantheon
Haven't fully sorted the second basemen yet, but I can tell you there will be *at least* two Pantheon-level players in that group.
And for what it's worth, don't hesitate to drop in positive comments here and there. I'm only somewhat motivated by positive attention, but if I don't see any positive comments for a week or two my mind invariably converts that into "people thought it was neat when you started, but it's become a little repetitive now and honestly you might as well move on to something else".
And any contributions or stories about the PBL players listed here are appreciated; most of these players I haven't interacted with substantively, but the MLB players always have stories coming out of everywhere.
As always, thanks for the support,
Sansterre

Slightly off topic, but with respect to the comment about canseco being perhaps unreliable... have any of you seen his twitter account? He’s legitimately a crazy person!!
