1. Albert Pujols, 1B - St. Louis Cardinals -- There is no reason why Pujols shouldn't win this award. The Cardinals first baseman lugged his team to the World Series - well except for that whole playoffs slump thing. But during the regular season Pujols was an unstoppable force. He led the Major Leagues in VORP by a wide margin. He had the highest OPS, most runs scored and most total bases of any player in the National League. Guy is a stud.
2. Chase Utley, 2B - Philadelphia Phillies -- Utley did what he does and put up a .915 OPS and 62.8 VORP while leading the Phillies to the playoffs. He is the best second baseman in baseball, and that includes with the glove. He finished 4th in the NL in RBIs with 120. You could argue he even got a little unlucky this season, as hit wOBA was 5th in the NL.
3. Hanley Ramirez, SS - Chicago Cubs/Florida Marlins -- Hanley's not the greatest shortstop in the world, but he crushed the ball for both teams this season. He didn't hit quite as well for the Cubbies as he did for the Marlins, but a .984 OPS out of any guy that can play a bit of defense at short is a gold mine. Ramirez led the NL in both doubles and extra base hits.

1. Albert Pujols 1B (St. Louis) - Simply the best player in baseball, had another outstanding year and one of the main reasons an AI managed team made it to the WS!
2. Adam Dunn 1B (Mets) - Lead the NL in HRs and RBIs
3. Chase Utley 2B (Phillies)

1) Albert Pujolz (Cardinals): Even taking into account his postseason choke job, Pujolz was miles away the best player in the NL this season, captaining the St. Louis ghost ship to the World Series.
2) Chase Utley (Phillies): Utley hit for power, he hit for average, he stole over 20 bases, he's probably going to win the NL gold glove for 2B...with so many players producing for marginal teams, Utley's relatively low OBS won't be held against him.
3) Hanley Ramirez (Marlins/Cubs) Don't blame him for Chicago's tank job. He produced in a big way all year round. totaling 34 home runs, 113 RBI's, 25 steals, and a .311 average.

1. Albert Pujols (STL)- RBI total is low, but then again, isn't RBI mostly a reflection of the hitters in front of him?
2. Troy Tulowitzki (COL)
3. Hanley Ramirez (CHN)

1. Albert Pujols STL - only one winner here, led the NL in 7 out of 18 stats catagories, in the top five in five more catagories
2. Adam Dunn NYM - anything after Albert is a big comedown but Dunn led the NL in homers and RBIs and almost got the Mets into the playoffs, third in OBP, SLG and OPS
3.The whole Colorado team - They got to the NLCS by a team effort without one real mega star
