In a very surprising turn of events Shane has decided to retire from the PBL. He recognizes that he has not been able to keep up recently and does not see that changing any time soon.
Shane has been a PBL icon since day one and has dominated the league at a level rarely seen in any competition. This is a GM that took his team to the playoffs in 33 consecutive seasons. That is correct, not a typo 33!
Obviously a huge loss for the PBL. Thanks Shane for all of the time you have put into the PBL. Obviously the door is wide open if you ever get the itch to get back into the fold.

Well that makes me sad that PBL has lost both Shane and myself this off-season. I hope the acting career is going strong for Shane. Whos the longest tenured member now?

Well that makes me sad that PBL has lost both Shane and myself this off-season. I hope the acting career is going strong for Shane. Whos the longest tenured member now? Howdy fellas. Yah, it really sucks to have to leave, but I am letting the Pirates down and they should be GM'd by somebody that can pay attention more. I've really sucked as a GM and the Pirates and the league deserve a better person for the job! Hopefully in the future I can jump back in on an open team at some point. That sucks you are gone too! The acting is going good. I have a show on Hulu coming out called "Reprisal" which hopefully will end up being as fun as it is to film. I really miss playing ootp, but really I miss the PBL, cause I don't think of ootp first when I think of this game I think of it is playing PBL. Definitely the best league in ootp history and still going strong! I wish everybody luck and I'll lurk a lot on here cause I'm always curious what's going on and who's winning the WS and such. In the meantime, thanks for the fun times y'all! And good luck to everybody!

Wow!
Shane set a standard that will never be duplicated. He like combined Babe Ruth + Bill Russell + Wayne Gretzky to set records that will never be broken.
It was amazing watching what he did.
Best of of luck on the new show, I will definitely be checking it out.

Shane,
Best of luck to you and please keep in touch. It's been fun battling over the years and I've learned a lot from you about this game. I am the same way, it doesn't matter what leagues I'm in this is what I think of first when I think ootp.
What is Reprisal about? Always looking for a new show to watch.

What an amazing run! And it will probably never be matched! If there was a Hall of Fame vote for GMs, you'd be a unanimous vote, first ballot! When I came back, I wasn't surprised to see Shane still with the league, but it was a shock to see that the Pirates hadn't missed a beat since nearly the beginning!.
Tough to see you go, but things happen and when that day is that you come back to the league, we should all hope we are not in the same division, or even league as Shane! Best of luck buddy!

Wow, I am shocked and saddened to hear this, Shane. Best of luck to you. You are a good dude!
Shane was an amazing GM. But even better? He never gloated or boasted about his accomplishments. He silently let his record do all the talking. A humble GM with a track record for eyeing and trading for talent, Shane will go down as one of the best GMs in OOTP, period.
Both Anthony and Shane stepped down in the same off-season. Coincidence? Or the same person? hahahaha just teasing.
Hope to see you back in the PBL down the road, Shane!

Shane, obviously we didn't talk much but I learned an incredible amount from watching you. Just watching you GM was an education.
Thank you for everything, I wish you the best.

Man. We not only lost THE STANDARD of PBL success, but a classy dude too. Shane, I appreciate everything you brought to this league. I am excited to hear that you may be lurking. We would love to hear from you anytime man, and hope you find your way back into the league at some point. I'd love the get an opportunity to see you take over a NEW team when you come back and teach us all how you build a franchise into a monster that goes 33 straight playoff seasons--- I mean, how in the HELL??
Best of luck, Shane.
Please pop in and say hi to us once in awhile. And I'd love to hear more about any acting appearances you make.

Shane, when the Pirates won fewer than 90 games after winning 90+ games (most seasons over 100) for 31 consecutive seasons, I knew something was wrong.
But it turns out things are right. With your career. That's terrific!
Thank you for the memories! We had some fun series, especially in the playoffs, over the years. For my Giants, it seemed that the path to the World Series always included a stop in Pittsburgh.
Good luck with your career! I'll be watching for you on Hulu and elsewhere.
