Hey Guys,
Just wanted to let you all know:
I recently discovered that I didn't sign ANY of my draft picks from this draft class. How dumb of me. In all my years in all my leagues.... that's never happened. Very disappointed in myself.
Anyway, I just wanted to touch base and reassure you that this was NOT an indication of how hard I am working things. In every sim before and after the draft, I have exported. Not only have I exported, but it was a complex export involving deliberately set out 7-day lineups, adjusting many things. Not only that--- I've actually been watching my game replays most times.
It's just crazy that I missed this. I started a 2nd job driving for uber 17 days ago, and I have been working my ass off to the tune of about 30 additional hours per week on top of my regular 40 at my primary job. That probably has something to do with it, lol. I remember seeing that I needed to sign these players. And then somehow, despite exporting complicated lineups for each sim---- I never went back to it and forgot about it and next thing I knew I had an in-game email about the comp picks I will receive.
Dumb.
Anyway.... just didn't want you all to think that I'm not invested. It was a ridiculous oversight. I'm all-in!
Go KC!!
Tim / KC

Tim / KC I think we all understand life getting in the way of our PBL universe, Tim. Easily has happened to me as well. And hey, if it makes you feel any better, I'm sure none of your picks were relievers anyway.

It's ok, just sets us back a little bit. Royals are still on the rise.

It's ok, just sets us back a little bit. Royals are still on the rise. I feel a bit for Ricky. I think he's around 17 years old -- I once commented that I figured he was quite young and he got defensive. For those in PBL who remember Estevao with the Cardinals, he was a young guy who eventually irritated everyone else. Also, Alex was a high school kid when he joined as Cardinals way back at the same time that I took over Toronto, 2015 PBL season (2011 real life). Alex became a good GM but not until seasons after he was found using position players at SP late in the season to improve draft position. My point being, I think for a younger person this league can be a difficult concept to them. Normally when playing a video or computer game, you play it how you want to play it. It's only you that matters. But we are in a league, and leagues are collectives, and when in league with others there has to be cooperation. Ricky deserved to be kicked out because he couldn't grasp the reality that there are other people, actual real people in the league that were not him. We were an abstraction. Until Ron came in and Ricky had his toy taken away, and it isn't going to be given back if he behaves nicely or says he's sorry...he doesn't get to have it back. That this is still just an online abstraction and not important likely fuzzes this up in a still developing mind, but I think we're seeing from Ricky real regret and real pain that has no outlet. It can't be explained to anyone else. So, it must be periodically acted out here as a release valve for being irritated with oneself, for being so stubborn and childish that one's toy was forever taken away. Hence, I have empathy for Ricky.

I just have it bookmarked and haven't bothered to delete. Enjoy watching the guys I drafted and waited on do their thing.
I'm 37, married, 3 kids. Plenty to do. But stay on those high horses. Maybe the owners that are leaving the league don't think as highly of the league as you guys do of yourselves.
