1. Who was the best addition you made to your organization this offseason? When the opportunity presented itself to add OF Samuel Brousseau, I knew that I couldn't pass it up. Brousseau is a plus defender, who has power and gets on base. His on base skills are what I'm most excited for, especially when he slots into the 2 hole against RHP. This is definitely the best offensive team on paper that I've had since taking over Cincinnati.
2. Who will you miss the most from your MLB squad? Ken Lawrence was a good player for us last year, but Brousseau makes him nearly forgettable.
3. What is the biggest mistake you have ever made in the PBL? Trading Mel Wolfe and Javier Negron for Robbie Gill and Jacob Anthony. Gill got injured and suffered a massive ratings drop after I signed him to an extension. I don't regret making the move, but it would be hard to not call it a mistake now looking back.
4. Has OOTP19 changed your approach? In what way if so? Sort of. I'm curious to see what happens to pitching with the movement of every pitcher going down one. I decided to keep my rotation intact, while adding another bat. I don't think adding another solid bat to a roster is ever a bad thing, but it seemed like it was worth any perceived "gamble".
5. Open your game and look in the history section. What is the most impressive PBL record you see? 149.4 Career WAR for Roberto Vasti. When comparing to real life, that puts him 5th all-time just ahead of Hank Aaron. Only Bonds, Ruth, Mays, and Cobb are ahead of him.
6. Will your team be improved record wise in 2047? I think we will. Hopefully this isn't taken the wrong way, but I don't see much improvement from the other teams in the NL Central for THIS particular season. I think if we can stay healthy that we'll have a shot at eclipsing the 100 win mark. Our offense should keep us in a lot of ballgames this season, and with Curtis Bates locking games down I think we're in as good of shape as ever.
7. Who is your most likely award candidate for 2047? Hisamatsu Kanegawa. The guy just hits, and can hit against both LHP and RHP. He's got even more protection around him this season, and I'm excited to see what numbers he puts up this season.
8. Predict the world series! Reds vs Athletics, with the Reds winning in 6 games.

1 Who was the best addition you made to your organization this offseason?
Chris Thornton and Brandon MacNamara. Hopeful that they can provide OBP and veteran experience.
2 Who will you miss the most from your MLB squad?
Al Lomond. Team captain, hit a lot of big homers, original 2038 draft class player, he will be missed and rooted for.
3 What is the biggest mistake you have ever made in the PBL?
Initially upon joining, I was very inexperienced, having only played in one loosely structured league and never playing solo. My first teams, the 2015 and 2016 Blue Jays, traded a few young prospects that ended up becoming really good players and that would have made my offense, which was excellent (ML record for home runs one season), the best in the league.
But by far the biggest blunder is that later on in the mid to late PBL 20s I did a poor job of stocking the cupboard with both pitching and overall depth for a Toronto team that should have won a World Series. Those teams had 3 Hall of Famers --all of which A's John would likely protest but still, 3!-- in Robert Benson, Sean Hanson and Brian Sinclair, the best leadoff man in the league (OF Jay Peters), the best 2B in the league (Duncan Macias) and a Cy Young winner (Sloan Emerick) all in their primes and couldn't get past either the Royals or the juggernaut Yankees teams of the era. Never made a Series with 1/4 of the team atop their positions.
4 Has OOTP19 changed your approach? In what way if so?
Not really.
5 Open your game and look in the history section. What is the most impressive PBL record you see?
It has to be the Pirates. Think of how a team like that would be received. Revered and hated at the same time by all fans, but respected by them all too. If you are a 33 year old person in 2047, the Pirates have made the playoffs every year of your life.
6 Will your team be improved record wise in 2047?
No, but it will be a better team.
7 Who is your most likely award candidate for 2047?
Dave Badenho was 3rd in Cy Young last year, but Norris Barton is still around. I'll go with 28 year old RH Wilbur Lindsay for Rookie of the Year in a dark horse victory.
8 Predict the world series!
I think I've predicted myself to win every World Series since I joined the league, so I may as well do so again. Sweep Oakland and sweep Cincinnati in the World Series.

2. Who will you miss the most from your MLB squad? Although he left 2 years ago, we still miss Pierre Boucher
3. What is the biggest mistake you have ever made in the PBL? Leaving the Cleveland Indians
4. Has OOTP19 changed your approach? In what way if so? Yes. Now I have to double-click on 19 instead of 18 to start the game
5. Open your game and look in the history section. What is the most impressive PBL record you see? Pittsburgh Pirates's franchise record...
6. Will your team be improved record wise in 2047? Yes it will. It has to !

8. Predict the world series! New-York Mets over the New-York Yankees

1. Who was the best addition you made to your organization this offseason? My goal this off season was to add a power hitting outfielder and a top of rotation starter and I think I was able to add both with John Howe (24 HRs & 37 doubles in his rookie year) and Bryan Smith (2.93 era and 1.08 whip in 21 games). I am thrilled to have them both
2. Who will you miss the most from your MLB squad? Martin Dominguez is going to be hitting homeruns in this league for a long time and also gave us the luxury of having to power hitting catchers, but he was the price I had to pay to upgrade my rotation.
3. What is the biggest mistake you have ever made in the PBL? Hey what do mean mistake? Who said I make mistakes??? Well I suppose I didn't get the better half of the deal that sent away both Brian Merritt (who I just brought back) and Joe Small. Small has saved something like a million games since I sent him Tampa Bay back in 2040. At least I got rid of infamous Ryan Ross contract in that deal.
4. Has OOTP19 changed your approach? In what way if so? No not really, I'm too stubborn to change.
5. Open your game and look in the history section. What is the most impressive PBL record you see? Without a doubt it is the domination of the Pirates. 33 consecutive playoff appearances!!!! This is Shane's world and he just allows us to live in it.
6. Will your team be improved record wise in 2047? Yes undoubtedly, without question, not even conceivable to consider any other possibility. I can go on as I continue to try convince myself this is our year.
7. Who is your most likely award candidate for 2047? Jose Jimenez 2047 MVP. Count on it.
8. Predict the world series! Subway Series with the Mets defeating the Yankees in 7

1. Who was the best addition you made to your organization this offseason? Cole Lewis and Randolph Cashmann are nice additions (in between DL stints), but Christian White fills a long term need for us both at 2B/SS and at the leadoff spot. We can backfill a lot of positions in the next few years with young talent, but middle infield is the weak link in our player development program. Hopefully White can thrive there for the next 3-4 years.
2. Who will you miss the most from your MLB squad? As of now the only player with positive WAR we lost from last season's squad was 2B Jorge Guzman (0.9). I will miss the good times (if you sort by WAR he's the greatest 28th round pick in PBL history), and he's the last link to my first opening day lineup, but it was time to move on.
3. What is the biggest mistake you have ever made in the PBL? Not selling the farm for Norris Barton. If you want a transaction I actually made, selling Tim Fernandez in a seller's market for a package based around Fernando Alfaro. Alfaro had 6/9/10 potential...at age 29. Lesson learned.
4. Has OOTP19 changed your approach? In what way if so? I reached for RP/C Kenny Davis in the supplemental round last year because of the two-way player feature that was coming. Otherwise I just rage at it for ruining Jim Tatum's potential. Dude went from Mariners castoff to top 15 prospect in a year, but regression has ruled the day since we switched over.
5. Open your game and look in the history section. What is the most impressive PBL record you see? Cheating a bit since this isn't on there, but Millard Nosworthy had five straight years of 50+ HRs between 2038-2042 (56, 57, 62, 52, 65). No one else (MLB+PBL) has five 50+ HR seasons in their entire career. Vasti has 2. Kono has 1. Bonds has 1. And what makes it really crazy is Nosworthy probably won't make the Hall of Fame.
6. Will your team be improved record wise in 2047? We were five games below our pythag last year, return almost literally everyone of value, and added Christian White, Cole Lewis, and Randolph Cashmann. I realize that last part sounded better in 2045 than it does in 2047, but they're manning positions we were replacement level at last season. So yeah, we damn well better be improved.
7. Who is your most likely award candidate for 2047? No disrespect to Robin Johnson, who was 2nd in MVP voting last year, but Chris Allen finished third playing only 106 games. He seems like he's bounced back from his injuries without any complications, so the NL is on notice.
8. Predict the world series! For the first time I'm tempted to take my own team, but I'll stick with my traditional pick of Pittsburgh to win the NL. This time they take it over the Yankees in 5.

1. Who was the best addition you made to your organization this off-season? This is a tough one to answer as we have been building from within for years now (still hoping it will pay-off eventually). The whole approach in Montreal is to develop young talent, in turn keeping the budget intact, so the acquisition of big names (and their big contracts) in the off-season is not really in the cards. Having said that, we did go out and offer aging veteran 1B/DH Guy Richmond a one-year deal. He brings the "captain" quality and seems to still have some pop left in his bat, even at age 42. Possibly (and this might be ascribing a little too much to the game code) he will be a good influence on the young talent in the clubhouse too!
2. Who will you miss the most from your MLB squad? Another tough one to answer only because we haven't had any "major" talent to deal with. And, despite more and more offers, the strategy has been to retain our developing youth instead of trading (and perpetually rebuilding). It is a different approach, as you could, as easily, trade your way to a pretty solid lineup, but I am trying to build cheap, and build something that will sustain itself for several seasons, IF it ever comes together for me in Montreal.
3. What is the biggest mistake you have ever made in the PBL? Nothing worth mentioning.
4. Has OOTP19 changed your approach? In what way if so? While I am a fan of "stars" (and I know it tends to be a polarizing subject) as a quick indicator of your talent, I am finding that I am focusing a lot more on all other components of my talent now that the stars are a little more "bell curve" that previously. When there are only a handful of truly 5-star players, you have to spend more time and effort sifting through the 2-3-4-star players, reviewing attributes and stats, to put together your best roster. I find it's not unlike the shift several versions ago in OOTP when prospects (and especially draft classes) went from a lot of high-star values that would tend to flame out, to far more moderate-star talent that had a chance to develop. That was roundly rejected by the community as every draft class seemed "to suck", yet it was kind of just two different ways to get to kind of the same place. Hopefully the new ratings will be embraced? There doesn't seem to be as much reaction.
I am enjoying not only that aspect of 19, but also some of the other tweaks in the game. It just keeps getting better!
5. Open your game and look in the history section. What is the most impressive PBL record you see? League History > History Index > PIT * And simply scroll down Seriously...Wow!
6. Will your team be improved record wise in 2047? Without a doubt.
7. Who is your most likely award candidate for 2047? CL Charlie Arenas was an All-Star last season, first in some time for Montreal. I am expecting another solid year from him. And hopefully a few others can edge their way into the conversation.
8. Predict the world series! I find it is actually getting tougher to do this as more and more teams seem to be in the mix annually (which is a good thing). I could easily go with NYY/NYM... Or PIT/Somebody in the AL (as it doesn't really matter anyway)...
But I think I will go with TEXAS and CINCINNATI this season, with Texas winning in a 7th game.

1. Who was the best addition you made to your organization this offseason?
Didn't add anyone this off season. Was in on Alfonso Téllez for a bit, but the contract got really absurd really fast. I did sign Simpson and Kokawa to below market value extensions. Kokawa initially wanted 26M/year for 9 years, but finally got him to agree to 16M for 6 years.
2. Who will you miss the most from your MLB squad?
Won't miss anyone. Only lost José Grijalba to FA, but his value was in SB and defense and after he lost a step in '45 his value took a major dive.
3. What is the biggest mistake you have ever made in the PBL?
There have been a few. Most were out of my control with players getting injured. Ryan Ross got massively injured (his arm nearly fell off) right after signing what was a team friendly extension for a #1 type starter. The 2044-45 off season is a painful memory with the the signing of Hadde Lieder and subsequent trade for Sergio Colmenares. Was in need a of decent LF and Lieder looked like he could produce 2-3 WAR types of seasons (I did see that he was injured and knew he was not going to be the 6+WAR type of player he previously was). Lieder has been terrible (hopefully OOTP 19 will show him some love) and although Colmenares went 16-6 for us in 2045, an injury in 2046 has left him a shell of his former self.
4. Has OOTP19 changed your approach? In what way if so?
With the exception of the 2-way players not really. I do have a few pitchers in minors that have some batting abilities and I will see how well the 2-way player system works.
5. Open your game and look in the history section. What is the most impressive PBL record you see?
Not at my home computer so cant really answer this
6. Will your team be improved record wise in 2047?
I think so. Pedro Valentín is finally ready to make himself felt in PBL. Kun Pae finally matured last year and hit 49 HRs last year. I think he can repeat gain this year. with Valentin, Pae, Kokawa and Henderson I have 4 players that can hit 30+ HRs and drive in 100. If Simpson and Santos can stay healthy I think the offense will improve over last year. Also I think my Pitting will also improve this year. The injury to Colmenares was a huge hit to our staff. I have a bunch of young pitchers (John Miller looks very promising) that are about ready to make their mark.
7. Who is your most likely award candidate for 2047?
Henderson is getting old, but he can still hit.
8. Predict the world series! Tampa (one of the most underrated teams in the PBL) in 7 over the Mets.

1. Who was the best addition you made to your organization this offseason? Toronto's 1st Round pick probably. I added some nice mid-range free agents but after having no first rounders for the last five years going into the draft with two is pretty exciting. Unless someone wants to trade for them . . . 2. Who will you miss the most from your MLB squad? Dennis Sanguillen. He wasn't great but he was my first 'this contract only makes sense if you have a big budget and are competing for a title' signing. Which means that his signing marked the beginning of being good enough to be financially stupid. A weird thing to be nostalgic about. 3. What is the biggest mistake you have ever made in the PBL? Trading Paul Doss. Doss was a little behind his developmental curve and projected to end up as a 2.5 WAR player. I flipped him for a 5/6/7 shortstop with 10 fielding. But that shortstop was a righty with strong splits and suddenly Adrian Garcia couldn't hit righties at all. In the meantime, Doss developed perfectly and became a 3-WAR player. A trade that made sense when I did it, but fell apart the second I realized how badly Garcia hit righties. A hard lesson. 4. Has OOTP19 changed your approach? In what way if so?I think we're a little early to find out anything that would change our style. 5. Open your game and look in the history section. What is the most impressive PBL record you see?Shane's team record / playoff streak. Not close. 6. Will your team be improved record wise in 2047?That would be unlikely, but possible. 7. Who is your most likely award candidate for 2047?Norris Barton is the obvious guess, but Carl Holmes is worthy of consideration. 8. Predict the world series!Oakland vs. Pittsburgh, Round 3. Ding!

1. Who was the best addition you made to your organization this offseason?
We did not add any top-tier players, but we did add some depth. Signed as a free agent, Carlos Martinez, who was very good pitching for Carolina, should bolster the bullpen. Joining him in the pen will be Rule 5 additions German Reyes and Jose Gallegos. Also, 2B/DH Jorge Gonzales and IF Jose Grijalba should strengthen the infield.
2. Who will you miss the most from your MLB squad?
SP Peter Underwood will be missed. Signed to a short-term, economical deal last year to add some pitching depth, Underwood proceeded to win the NL Cy Young award after posting a 12-6 record and a league-leading 2.56 ERA. In his first post-season start, he ruptured an ulnar collateral ligament. Given that he is nearing his 36th birthday and will miss the entire '47 season, it is unlikely that he will ever see action again in the PBL.
3. What is the biggest mistake you have ever made in the PBL?
It seems that my biggest mistake is in progress. Soon after signing power hitter Alfredo Pantoja to a long-term contract extension, his contact skills deteriorated. Then, two weeks after signing the contract, he was suspended for 80 games for a substance abuse violation - spending his newly acquired cash, no doubt. Then he sustained multiple injuries. Last season, he simply sucked.
It was recently reported that every Giants fan in the Bay Area is hoping Pantoja opts out of his contract; he's a greedy bastard, so he may do so. If not, at least his contract is "only" $15m/year.
4. Has OOTP19 changed your approach? In what way if so?
My approach has not changed, but given that the replay functionality has improved I plan to watch more replays.
5. Open your game and look in the history section. What is the most impressive PBL record you see?
Satan Kono's 909 HRs and 2602 RBI are eye-popping!
6. Will your team be improved record wise in 2047?
No. We do not "feel" as strong this year as we did last season when we won 99 games and competed in the NLCS. We do not project this squad to win 99, but hopefully we will come close.
7. Who is your most likely award candidate for 2047?
Clearly, our candidate for the NL CY Young award has to be Enrique Vazquez.
8. Predict the world series!
The Oakland A's finally will win one in their fourth appearance in the last five seasons. They will best a strong Cincinnati Reds team.

1. Who was the best addition you made to your organization this offseason?
Noone. This was a stay the course year. Not trading any kids away. Want to see as many of my guys as i can play at the MLB level in OOTP19. Want to make some draft picks for once.
2. Who will you miss the most from your MLB squad?
Noone. We did not play well last year. Anyone not coming back did not have a place in my future vision of this team.
3. What is the biggest mistake you have ever made in the PBL?
The one time i had the top pick in the draft, i selected Roy Castle. Injuries destroyed him, and he never really made any impact as a major leaguer. He became a bust. Screwing that pick up has always haunted me.
4. Has OOTP19 changed your approach? In what way if so?
I am putting less emphasis on ratings then i ever have.
5. Open your game and look in the history section. What is the most impressive PBL record you see?
Sotan Kono's 909 career home runs! Amazing!
6. Will your team be improved record wise in 2047?
Probably not.
7. Who is your most likely award candidate for 2047?
Cesar Perez. He's capable of being a MVP. Just 25, he has developed fantastically. His raw power gives me hope!
8. Predict the world series!
The New York Mets will win the World Series.

1. Who was the best addition you made to your organization this offseason?
OF Alfonso Tellez
Yes it’s a big contract. To us there’s nothing worse than money given that’s not spent. We like what he brings to our lineup and obviously we where willing to break the bank for him.
2. Who will you miss the most from your MLB squad?
I’m pissed about 2B Cesar Espinoza. Breaks a fucking finger and misses 4-5 months of baseball. Waits til the week before spring training to tell me that he forgot how to play. FML!
3. What is the biggest mistake you have ever made in the PBL?
This is easy. I signed JJ in the 2-3 season of the PBL to a 7 year 177mil contract. He pitched 10 innings and blew out his elbow. Rest is history. Yes I cried.
4. Has OOTP19 changed your approach? In what way if so?
This will be my first season of 19. So I guess we’ll see soon.
5. Open your game and look in the history section. What is the most impressive PBL record you see?
Anything Vasti related.
6. Will your team be improved record wise in 2047?
I’d like to think we have a 90-95 game winner this year.
7. Who is your most likely award candidate for 2047?
In a perfect world CF Alfonso Tellez will win the ROY but my money is on 1B Steve Watkins to play well this year as well.
8. Predict the world series!
Indians over the Reds.

Spring Training is here. The time for false optimism among many of us!! Take a few minutes and answer some questions about your team. 1. Who was the best addition you made to your organization this offseason?
This off-season i brought back fan favorite, David Segura. "Snake" was an 8th overall pick in the 2039 draft for us and made his PBL debut in 2041, putting up a 3.1 WAR in his rookie season. The next two seasons he put up a 5 and 6 WAR seasons, but injuries slowed him in 2044, appearing in only 55 games. In an off-season trade, Segura was dealt to the Twins in advance of the 2045 season where he spent the past two seasons. Segura returns to play a complimentary role beside Molina, Riley, Hooper, McDonald & George. 2. Who will you miss the most from your MLB squad?
Closer Alden Jackson declined his player option to become a free agent in the off-season. Jackson saved 131 games for this team in his 4 seasons with the Mets, coming over from Houston in a deal in the 2043 season. His ERA+ with the Mets was 145 and put up 7.3 WAR in those 4 seasons, with a 9.5 K/9 and 2.9 BB/9. His consistency will be missed. 3. What is the biggest mistake you have ever made in the PBL?
Man, just one? I could list 15....I'm going to go all the way back to when i first joined the PBL, in the 2026 season. I SHOULD have developed a draft and develop philosophy, with a clear direction on the type of players I want this team to be. But instead, i tried to wheel and deal without fully investing the time to understand player value in the league. As a result, we drifted for many seasons until 2033, where we put up 97 wins only to win only 73 the next season. Zero consistency from year to year put us in a big hole, and only recently was able to come back from that HUGE mistake. It might have been easier to write my entire PBL career is the biggest i ever made in the PBL, but that only scratches the surface, doesn't it. 4. Has OOTP19 changed your approach? In what way if so?
My approach to watching game high-lights, yes! I LOVE that feature! As for player acquisition, roster decisions the answer is no. I know what i have and what our strengths/weaknesses are. The game hasn't changed that much in my estimation. 5. Open your game and look in the history section. What is the most impressive PBL record you see?
Roberto Vasti put up 149.4 career WAR. In MLB history, only 4 players have a higher career WAR: 1. Barry Bonds - 162.8 2. Babe Ruth - 162.1 3. Willie Mays - 156.4 4. Ty Cobb - 151.0 That is some serious company. Vasti deserves to be celebrated with the best of them, and he is a true PBL original! 6. Will your team be improved record wise in 2047?
I'm afraid not. We won 102, 103 and 94 games the past 3 seasons. We will be fortunate to win 89 games this year. My pitching has regressed a bit and we will take a bit of hit. The good news is the young players making their debut this season will make us stronger in a few seasons. 7. Who is your most likely award candidate for 2047?
SP Kevin Lopez is comfortably inside the top 10 PBL pitcher list and I expect him to continue to get better with age. With Barton in the AL, Ray Barry and Mario Soto will give Lopez a run for his money for the NL Cy Young. I would also include San Francisco's Vazguez, but his current injury may hold him back a bit this season. 8. Predict the world series!I like the Reds from the NL to make it to the World Series, and they will face the Texas Rangers! Danny will finally get past his Oakland A's nemesis, but in the end WS MVP Kanegawa will prove too much for the Rangers and the Reds prevail in 6. I'm not much of a predictor, according to my past predictions, but I am pleased baseball is back in the PBL! Good luck all, enjoy the upcoming season and have fun! Fun is what it is all about, boys.

1. Who was the best addition you made to your organization this offseason? 1B Luis Sanchez from the Cardinals. He hasn't yet reached the production expected from his ratings but he should still be a solid contributor against both righties and lefties.
2. Who will you miss the most from your MLB squad? Subaru Yamaguchi!!!! He was fantastic for me but I didn't want to risk him being here for his decline if it happens this season.
3. What is the biggest mistake you have ever made in the PBL? The Tony Encarnacion extension didn't work out after a bad injury wrecked his career but I might do the same again if I had a young ace that I could extend. My biggest regrets will be realized in a couple seasons when the prospects I've traded away hit the bigs and start dominating me. Lookin at you Alec Carras.
4. Has OOTP19 changed your approach? In what way if so? I have completely changed my team pitching philosophy. During 2041-2046 I had "intentional walks" and "pitching around" sliders set to 0 to avoid giving up free passes and encourage contact to my groundball pitching staff. Now after the movement changes, this isn't sustainable for some of the arms in my staff so I am doing an about face to high stuff, flyball pitchers and adjusting the sliders. We'll see how it goes.
5. Open your game and look in the history section. What is the most impressive PBL record you see? Not at my laptop with the game so I'll update later.
6. Will your team be improved record wise in 2047? It better be...It might be wishful thinking but I think our team was extremely unlucky last season.
7. Who is your most likely award candidate for 2047? I think Raymond Page still has a lot left in the tank.
8. Predict the world series! Dodgers over the A's in 7 games.
