One's position on this is completely dependent on exactly how much weight you put on the pitch framing value numbers. Without them (and as I recall they speak very, very well of Molina) I don't see how you could possibly make the argument that he's a hall of famer.

One interesting aspect from an OOTP aspect is Bill James' Hall of Fame Monitor. I haven't had a chance to look at the ink tests on baseball reference but I plan on doing so later today. Molina sits at a 140 rating currently, which puts him right on the borderline of being a hall of famer by the metric. So, it makes sense why people outside of the home market would be on the fence if he's currently in or out.
