Need a quality catcher? I have 3 really good ones, and not enough playing time to go around. Let's talk trades.
Takeichi 'Goobers' Kodo - 3.5 star rated
Kodo is ready to be the primary catcher for a major league team. He brings a quality bat with a good amount of power complimented by a fantastic defensive skill set. In his only full major league season he posted a quality .271/.331/453 slash line balanced out with a defensive efficiency rating of 1.277. His leadership, loyalty and intelligence rate at the high end of the charts which could unite a team and drive them towards a championship. Also, did I mention that Kodo currently has less than 2 years of service time? Many years of team control remaining.
David Arroyo - 3 star rated
This last year Arroyo surprised me quite a lot with his defensive metrics. I had intended to use Arroyo primarily as a DH, with occasional starts at C in order to give Rusty Dye a day off. However, Arroyo posted a career best in many defensive metrics including a defensive efficiency of 1.304, and ended up catching 57 games. While his offensive performance was indeed a blemish, he still knocked out 21 long balls and has seen his offensive skills return late in 2042. Arroyo should be primed to have a bounce back year and his extremely high work ethic would set a great example for a young team. Arroyo currently has 3 years left on his contract.
Rusty Dye - 1 star rated
Don't let that star rating fool you, Rusty is the poster child for not judging a book by it's cover. He boasts a career slash line of .299/.341/.420 which means that you can plug him into a lineup at the top as a table setter, or just behind the middle of your lineup as protection for the boppers. Over 4+ years as a platoon and primary catcher Rusty has amassed over 10 war with a full season average of 3.0 war per season. He is extremely intelligent and wants to win during his 2 remaining years of team control.
