More Great Moments in Owner Demands

We all know that owner demands can be kooky. I'd like to share this one with you though:


Now, at first it might look innocuous compared to some crazy owner demands. He'd just like a simple upgrade at Left Field. But now I'd like to show you Jim Hull's history page:



On the left you'll see that Jim Hull is the 2042 ROOKIE OF THE YEAR DAMMIT.
On the right you'll see that Jim Hull HIT THE WALK OFF HOMER TO WIN GAME SEVEN OF THE WORLD SERIES DAMMIT!

But the owner wants the bum run out of town on a rail! This has been, another great moment in owner demands.

Hey Benjamin,

Understand you have been chatting with a couple of members of the media regarding that little conversation we had about our 3rd base position? As you know, I am very "understanding" but also just wanted to point out that, despite young Hull's success this past season, he is ranked 18th in the league at his position. I was thinking "big picture" when I made my suggestion.

That JUE kid in Pittsburgh hit .361 this past season with a WAR of 8.5 and is ranked #1 in LF. Wow! I'm pretty certain a player of his calibre would look nice in a Rockies uniform (although let's keep that strictly between us so the Pirates don't call me out for tampering)? I just thought it might always be an idea to look at an upgrade? I just happened to key on a youngster you have playing LF.

Maybe Hull will grow more in his position this season and indeed climb the list of players positioned in LF? Should that be the case, I will happily sign off on my demand and bow to your wisdom of putting players in the best position to succeed! You will note that I have given you until the end of this coming season to meet the demand, so that could very well be the case.

Quite clearly you have already met the other two demands on my list, well in advance of my timeline and for that I do thank you. Maybe we'll have to raise the bar a bit in both of those areas? Should I determine a second consecutive championship might be more in line with the success you have shown you can have this season then maybe an upgrade at several positions might be in order?

Congratulations on your World Series, that is something that can never be taken away from either of us!! Thank you!!
