Hey, I just joined another league and in that league they use surveymonkey.com to take roll call and also ask for feedback on rule changes or alignment or whatever. Seems like a good idea and I thought maybe the PBL would want to do the same thing the next time we do roll call or want feedback from the other GMs on rule changes or whatever.
Also, they use Slack to chat and it's awesome. Much easier to do trade talks with other GMs.
They have morale setting turned off. Not sure why or how much morale really impacts a player's stats but I thought we might want to discuss that as well.
Just some things I have observed and wanted to pass along.

Oh and the alignment is based on a 3 year average win totals. I guess to make the divisions more competitive, idk.
And they do not trade draft picks because of how destructive trading away draft picks can be to organizations. They say some teams would trade most of their higher picks away and then that GM would leave and the team they left behind would be a mess for years to come making it less likely that a new GM would want to stick around to rebuild the mess. Just a thought. I'm new enough to OOTP that I don't know if that's really an issue or not. Just felt it was worth sharing with the other GMs in the PBL.

The more you use slack and survey monkey the less people use the forums. One of great things about the PBL is it has a very active forum and using other communication methods would take away from that.

I've said it before and ill say it again. I hate slack. I don't have time to stay up to date in real time, and I like to read every single message on the forums.

Cool. Just throwing ideas against the wall to see what sticks. There may be some things that improve the PBL while other ideas may not work for us. Just tossing out some things to consider.

He is referring to SBL. SBL used to be exact mold of PBL so we have tried to do things to get away from that mirror image. The divisional change was unpopular to some GM's and we lost a few gm's who are actually here in PBL so that change I don't see being a good thing here.

Again, just tossing out some things I saw. PBL is a great league. I'd love to see it keep getting better and better.

It is always good to throw ideas you think of or see in other leagues. We have made changes along the way and would certainly make changes going forward to make the league stronger and more appealing.
