Okay, I am going to get the ball moving a bit and start the off-season. I think now is the time to post any changes, concerns, etc and lets address issues as we go and before we get too deep. I enjoyed my few days off as it was much needed but time to start again....
We need some new owners so any help recruiting would be fantastic! We will sim on Wednesday to announce award winners, process trades.

I would recommend patching and turning off rainouts... The way OOTP schedules them is just plain strange (double headers in different cities) and it really does put a crimp in managing the roster for double headers.

We've put it off for a couple seasons now, but it's time to make a judgement on free agent contracts post-Zevin. I don't think we should spend the next week re-litigating everything. It's just my hope that the Commish can take a look at the discussions we've had previously and make a final ruling.

Please re-evaluate the "delayed diagnosis" for injuries? Did someone mention a contract discussion Actually... - I think the game is moving in the right direction right now with respect to contract negotiations in the game but there still might be some tweaks to help contracts in-game. - I still think some of the rules we currently have in place are out-dated and frankly, not being followed, so could be stricken from the rules (not going to raise it again as it has been already). - We should have started down this path the moment the season ended, so we could have aired anything and everything for this past week. But moot now. Oh, and regardless of how much time we do, or do not, spend on any of this, concensus will never be reached. So let's (and by that I mean the Commissioner and his inner circle) make some quick and decisive moves, then get going. But of course happy to submit some thoughts along the way. PM sent to help with recruiting...

There were a few ideas introduced and discussed last off season but were never really responded to. If we want further discussion or analysis I would be happy to create threads, polls, moderate discussions or whatever needs to be done.
Player ratings. Switch to a 1-100 or 20-80 point system.
Player ratings. Turn on "By League Level" evaluation.
Enable Scouting. (There was quite a bit of discussion on this. It seems like the feedback was pretty split)
Contract Rules. David proposed a pretty concise system.
There was also a request to do a bulk remove of retire free agents that have no shot at the PBL.
League, let me know if I missed any topics. Commish, let me know if a decision has been reached on any of these topics.
Thanks.

Is it time to discuss contraction and with that realignment?
Us core GMs need to consider just how difficult it is for new GMs to come into the PBL and compete within a reasonable amount of time. Our rules, finances, and established teams have to be very discouraging to any new comers.
Just my .02

But I will say that most of the GMs in this league have been very helpful in teaching me how things work both in the PBL and in OOTP17. It's a challenge coming into an established league like this one and taking over a team in disarray both financially and on the field and having any real chance to compete.

You're not alone & our yearly handful of open teams confirms this. During the first 15 seasons you couldn't get into this league unless someone passed, lol. Our newer GMs had a much easier time adjusting to just the on field competition ( which has always been tough in itself ) but adding the harder and harder in game finances on top of it all is just killer. How to fix this to beyond me, but Derek had slayed bigger dragons than this I assure you.

Normally, you are 100% right but to be honest, I needed some time away from the computer and didn't want to bury my head into discussions and all that.. I apologize but I'll work hard to get caught up.

Is it time to discuss contraction and with that realignment? I would politely disagree. Given the league will almost always show a bell curve of successful/unsuccessful franchises, for a number of reasons, there will almost always be a handful of VERY successful franchises, a majority of relatively successful, good and mediocre franchises and there will be a handful of relatively poor franchises. And IF any of the "Core GM's" depart and you replace that GM with a relative rookie, that franchise could quickly find itself in sad shape if that rookie makes bad moves or is preyed upon by the "Core". Again, that will happen regardless of how many teams are in the league. And, more to your point, if the expectation is to be a contender in a couple of seasons, then the current "Core GM's" will always be an impediment to that. It would appear we are seeking four (possibly only three is St. Louis speaks up quickly) GM's to fill the league. I, for one, like our chances. And if they give us more than one (or even a partial) season, you never know how quickly their franchise can turn. They might surprise us?!? Additional point. If the league had previously contracted, there is a good chance a GM like "Peter" (who has taken the Cubs by the throat and seems ultra-committed) may not have had a place in PBL.
We just have to hope we find more "Peter's" instead of "tire kickers!"
Just my 2c.

No, I don't take it as a direct jab at me but it is my fault for not getting ball rolling sooner on roll call and discussion threads. I don't think you tried to blame but the blame does go on me here.

There are a lot of "Peters" out there. Believe me. Thankfully not many in this league. Just me. LOL. Go Cubs Go!
On a side note, I hope everyone is watching the real Cubs this season. 100 wins for the first time since 1935! Bryant for MVP and you pick any one of their starters for Cy Young. These kids are young and hungry. So hoping they do not let me down in the post season. I have waited 30 years for this moment yet a part of me feels like the wheels are gonna fall off at any moment and they will be the loveable losers we all know and love. #Trynot2suck

By the way, my PBL Cubs won like 20 more games in 2039 then we did in 2038 (52). I was just hoping to win 5-10 more in 2038. Something to build on for 2040.
