Here in the PBL we take pride in the fact that we do not discriminate, and only had over awards to just the best of the best. So in honor of the truly worst in 2010, we present the Annual "Complete Dumbass Award" for the team with the worst record. By no means does this mean your the worst GM in the game. In fact, it could be quite the opposite, you could be one of the most dedicated and more talented GMs but many things contribute to this award such as injuries, bad luck, taking over a bad team and sometimes, it just may be that you do indeed suck (like when Yankees get this award!) So Congratulations to the Chicago White Sox for sucking it up this season! Please remember though, its not always that bad, when things are down, at least you have each other

I would've given this award to Toronto or Houston for their disastrous seasons.
Or San Francisco from turning an 8-game NL West lead to a 5-game deficit in four weeks of August. Nice going Giants!!!

They definitely are worthy candidates as well but even if I factored in other criteria which I may do in the future, I'd still have to think Chicago wins this award because
1- San Francisco choked over a 4-week stretch but was also without management for a while, I think we are on 3rd owner this season in San Francisco and they still ended up winning 93 games and making the playoffs
2- Toronto also deserves consideration as they took a huge risk in acquiring Zambrano and Ramirez only to be looking to dump them off as fast as they could. However they played in a division where the Orioles surprised many teams this year and were more competitive than most thought would be and two teams reached 100+ wins (NY 104, TB 100) and one reached 90+ (BOS 94). How many times in history has a division been so strong? Oh and they dumped that Vernon Wells contract!
3- Houston, certainly had a problem! But I think we all knew going in that this job was a sinking ship and they had to do something drastic to turn things around. Despite adding Vernon Wells and that salary, they were able to dump enough salary to have $123 million to spend in free agency. This actually may be one of the most exciting jobs in PBL right now, can completely build a team the way he wants.
4- Chicago should of been competitive in the Central this year and they made moves to compete, just things did not fall their way and the results were a 100 loss season. They will definitely be back though
Nice to see the contenders for the worst team all have a lot of promise. Often times in OOTP leagues the worst teams are so far gone they become a revolving door of owners because they are too ruined. Here looks like these guys have plans.
You all have nowhere to go but up!

We accept this award with great thanks. Some things went terribly wrong and next season might now be better, but as someone that has built winners in a number of OOTP leagues I promise I'm not going anywhere and the Chicago White Sox will be on top of the AL Central some day.
