Congratulations to Sam East of the Seattle Mariners for winning the 2010 American League General Manager of the Year award. It was a very close race but what he done with the least expectations made for a great season. East put together a 97 win team by acquiring making bold moves and acquiring elite players such as AL MVP, Prince Fielder, Brian McCann, Jake Peavy and Carlos Quentin. Voting Results: Sam East, Seattle (16) Nigel Laverick, New York - (13) E.J. Joseph, Tampa Bay (11) Jason Herbert, Minnesota (1)

Thanks commish, considering this year was ultimately a failure for Seattle (we traded away our entire farm for a team that lost!) it's a bitter sweet award to receive!

Hey, you also exceeded expectations. Next year will be the year you come under more scrutiny!

Hey, you also exceeded expectations. Next year will be the year you come under more scrutiny! Exactly! You were rewarded this season for taking a huge risk and winning 90+ games but next year is when you will be hearing the skeptics coming out...

Our offense is likely to be an issue again next year - but with King Felix, Jake Peavy and Jonathon Sanchez in the rotation we'll be difficult to beat....

After seeing that Sanchez trade, let's just hand you next year's award too.
