- Adjusted written scouting report to better match displayed ratings
- Adjusted contract demands for young players
- Fixed case where users could create quickstarts out of online league games
- Fixed case where rule 5 picks were not being returned to their original teams in online leagues
The first is simply overdue and a logical extension of scouting. If we were using full scouting in this league, hopefully it would take things another step in the right direction but hopefully this also improves the standard and basic scouting summary for each player.
The second is huge! Apparently this tweak tightens up the willingness for players to simply giveaway their arb years when being asked to sign at a very early age and stage in their career. In my opinion, every tweak to give the players more power and smarts in the area of negotiating contracts is a gigantic positive. Naturally, with the "two arb" and the still a tad ambiguous 4+ or 5+ ML Service years rules in PBL, this might not be felt here, but hopefully will ripple throughout the entire negotiation process on the part of the AI.
The third item is very recent news to me, hearing about this major exploit in another league. Apparently there was a loophole where players could create a quickstart out of their online league file somehow and then sim ahead to see which players (likely targeting propects) would develop into studs! Then, with the current file, make some lopsided trades that, on the surface, would make the other GM (and the rest of the GM's) scratch their heads. It wasn't until years later, when the targeted prospect all of a sudden sees massive bumps, that the trade became suspect. If there's a loophole, a human will discover it, open it, and drive right through it!!!
The last item might be very important in the online world. If a Rule 5 can be released, then find his way back to the original team EVERY TIME, and without Commissioner intervention OR being bounced to free agency, again requiring Commissioner intervention to correct the error, that would really be sweet.
I do hope they continue to put maximum effort into the "behind-the-scenes" coding of OOTP in future!
I applaud the moves above IF they actually work as suggested and improve this already fantastic game.
