This looks like a great party!
I motion to turn rain outs off. This often times causes a double header and forces pitchers to pitch who are not ready.

I have found that using the "Strict, on occasion highest rested" option avoids the risk of one pitcher starting both games and also leads to a satisfactory selection for the starter in the second game. Regarding relievers, the manager must determine who is rested enough to pitch in either game, just like in real life. I do not second your motion.

So while I do agree that rainouts are a part of baseball, the way it reschedules them is terrible. Double headers, each game in different cities is where I lose the real aspect of the rainouts.

There wouldn't be a problem if we were simming one day at a time. However, we are not. If we want to talk about real life and being part of baseball, in real life we would get 26 man rosters and have the ability to start relievers or a guy from the minors. We do not have that ability in this game. If you set your lineups every week, the game messes things up if a rainout occurs. For example, what if I want my long man to start and keep my rotation in tact, rainouts do not make that possible. If I have my ace going tomorrow vs another team's ace, then I want him to pitch the game I have selected and not vice versa. I've also seen the game pitch the same pitcher in game 1 and game 2 to start. Rainouts in online leagues add no value to the league. I don't really understand why we wouldn't do something that is available to avoid that scenario from happening.

Also, there are reasons to not have the "Strict, on occasion highest rested" option on. For example, you might be in a stretch where you only need a 4 man rotation.

Good points, men. I am glad my comments triggered responses.
OOTP sure could do a better job of coding doubleheaders driven by rainouts. A game in each of two cities in one day is awful; I forgot about that possibility as something others have experienced - I haven't... yet. Admittedly, the setting for starters I highlighted is a workaround for coding that could be better. It works for me.
Upon further review - cue the replay facilities at PBL central - given that the code is not optimal in its current state, now that we have the option it might be a good idea to flip the switch and eliminate the possibility of rainouts.

Unfortunately the movement of the ball while watching replays still is missing - a previously available feature that worked, but was broken during the development of v. 17. For me, this takes the fun out of watching replays.
Or am I the only one with this issue? I have tried all available options, but nothing works.
