Where are you right now? 1) You have OOTP17? 2) You have d/l the PBL.lg zip and have extracted it saved_games? 3) You have created the "settings" folder within PBL.lg manually and have placed the gm data file in there? 4) You have tried to open the game and see you name and team? Just leave a post here and I will get to it ASAP.
Don't worry, we'll get you setup and running!!

Excellent!
Fantastic tutorial above. Only thing I might add is to change the p/w given to you by the Commissioner once you are in so only you will have access to your team going forward. It will take effect next d/l.
Also, a forum avatar of your team logo (or something to show which team you control) would be fantastic. Or tweak your forum name to signify your team?
Good Luck

Following is an explanation of the ongoing sim process. This isn't as visual as the awesome start-up tutorial Ben posted, but I hope it provides you newbies with a better understanding of the sim cycle. - Derek maintains the master version of the PBL database.
- Derek runs a sim with all games played while he sims. Results, including replays, will be available in an updated version of the database.
- After each sim, Derek distributes an updated version of the database via the server. When Derek posts a "file up" message, the updated database is available for downloading.
- Each GM downloads the updated database via one of two methods: a) in-game (preferred); or, b) directly from the PBL website.
- To download in-game, select File (top left of the screen) >> Online League >> Download Latest League File as depicted in step 10 of the first post in this thread.
- To download from the PBL website, select the League File option as depicted in step 2 of the first post in this thread.
- At this point, each GM has a version of the database within OOTP that matches the master database.
- Within OOTP, each GM makes all changes (e.g., lineups & substitutes; rotation & reliever roles; promotions & demotions; contract extension offers, etc.) he wishes to make for the upcoming sim, which usually covers one week.
- Within OOTP, each GM uses the export function to export updated data for his team to the server.
- To export, select File (top left of the screen) >> Online League >> Export Your Team via FTP as depicted in step 10 of the first post in this thread.
- Each GM should export by the time Derek specifies. Each GM may - and should - verify that an export was received at the server site by viewing the export tracker page available at the PBL website.
- To verify your export, select the Export Tracker option visible to the left of the League File option visible in the PBL website view posted in step 2 of the first port in this thread.
- When time permits after the announced deadline, Derek "pulls" all exports submitted to the server. At this point, the sim process begins again at step 2.
Helpful hints: - There is no limit to the number of times you may export. You may tinker to your heart's content exporting after each change.
- I highly recommend that you export more than once and then verify the result by checking the status of your export via the export tracker.
- If "Current" is displayed to the right of your team name, an export for the current sim was successfully received.
- If you export multiple times and wish to verify that the most recent export was successfully received, check the time stamp, which identifies the time (Central Time) the most recent export was received.
- If you discover that you made a mistake after you have exported, don't panic. You may "erase" the mistake by deleting the online_league_file_time.cfg file contained in the settings folder and then downloading a second time. This process also may be used if the file you downloaded was corrupted - rare, but it happens.
