The Cincinnati Reds and 2B Paul Grant have agreed to a 1 year contract extension.
The deal is for one year, $800k.
Grant was traded to Cincinnati at the trade deadline and stabilized the 2B position for the ball club. Shortly after his arrival, Grant injured his hamstring and missed 3 weeks at the end of August. After returning from injury, Grant batted .306 in September with 3 HR 8 RBI and 14 R.
Grant definitely isn't getting younger and as recent as 2036 he only appeared in 65 games due to injury and poor performance on the field but the depth that he provides was well worth it to GM Sean Bain. "Paul has fit well in our locker room and ,when healthy, has been a solid 2B in our lineup. We look forward to having him in a Reds uniform in 2038."
