Based on some trade activity recently this is just a quick reminder to the league:
Trading Draft Picks Draft picks can only be traded for the upcoming draft. a. The trading of draft picks can only occur after the World Series and prior to “the pick to be traded” in the upcoming draft. b. Once “the pick to be traded” is “on the clock” then it can no longer be traded.
My understanding is the reason for this rule is a OOTP restriction. That is the only time the commissioner can enter the picks in a trade.
Full disclosure so as not to be hypocritical. I broke this rule in a trade with Baltimore a couple of seasons ago. I was unaware of the rule and we ended up agreeing on two trades, the second to take place after the World Series completed.

And I didn't realize this rule was in place, so my trade block offer of a draft pick may have further confused some. My apologies.

So an easy way around that is to agree to trade the pick AFTER the world series ?

Only if it's close enough. There's a limit on the days for a player to be named later, not certain without looking it up
