The PBL's best player is a free agent after voiding his player option.
Discuss.

There are actually more good players who voided there option year. The FA class suddenly has become a lot more interesting.

JY Kim too?
Id love either Kim or Hicks to come to Seattle but theyre going to want 5-6 year contracts, which are so risky.

Damn Brett Lawrie exercised his damn player option and is staying with me for damn 13.8 mil or I'd have been right there with you Alex. I'm at 20.5 mil. I thought for sure he would walk as shitty as this team was. Damn!!

Hate to break the heart of many but Aaron Hicks exercised his player option but is still wanting to discuss a contract extension and with a vacant Cubs ownership, I'll be offering Hicks an extension to remain a Cub.
I've done this in the past for teams who are GM-less as the Cubs losing Hicks would really take some of their appeal away for new owners coming in.

Absolutely the right call if he is willing to extend. Any GM would do the same.

Yup. Originally asked for a 7 year deal, I offered 7 for the Cubs but year 6 being a team option, year 7 a vesting option and he declined. He came back asking for a 4-year deal @ $20m deal with year 4 being a being team option.
This is an absolute no-brainer for any team.

I would have given up to like 25-28 mil for a deal with that structure

Definitely would of been outbid. I refer to Josh Johnson hitting the F/A Market years back and getting $44m for 1 season then the rest was in the $30+ million range.
At a minimum he would of gotten an offer in the range that Bryce Harper signed his extension for, 8-years, $203 million.
