Like the idea of creating some type point system. I'm not 100% certain of how I want to do it and what the points will be used for but I know it will not be for player rating changes etc.
I'm thinking points for:
*New jersey/uniforms? * New stadium? * Relocation? Each team will have a different level of point. Moving Yankees would be 10x harder than moving San Diego for ex. * Ownership change? different level points for patience and fiscal personality?
My one rule would be team names would need to stay same or be replaced by a former ML team name like Expos, Pilots, Senators.

Only so long as the rewards are 100% cosmetic, so yes to uniforms, team names/relocation even, but big no to change fiscal personality or the relocation changing market size etc.

As a veteran of the league, sure, but could this put newcomers at a disadvantage? And I don't mean recent GMs, I mean new GMs that come in down the line. Guess, I'd like to see how the points are accumulated and what they can be used for before making a vote.

Another variation to this could be something I brought up years ago: achievements along the lines of XBox achivements, purely cosmetic and something that is more akin to forum presentation rather than actual in game changes.
For example, you gain an achievement for being in the league for 5 years, for having an MVP on your team, making the playoffs, winning the World Series, etc. I'd even be open to designing some ribbons or little graphics that you can include in your forum signature to show them off. Then if you want to put a point system to these, this can go directly to Derek's suggestion above about earning points to change unis, stadium, etc.
Something like this makes me lean toward a yes vote.

This could also work for renaming your stadium also. I really do not like the corporate names of stadiums. I know in the real world that it helps teams financially but here it would be cool to name your stadium after an all time great.
Ex: Ty Cobb Field or if you wanted two greats Ty Cobb Field at Sparky Anderson Grounds.
Both of the above ideas I would enjoy.

I can definitely see Tropicana Field in Tampa being renamed Marvin Webb Stadium. Rightful tribute for the most exciting man in baseball...

I like what's being written above this post and agree especially regarding not increasing the actual player values or fan interest, etc. Maybe fan interest is something I'd consider but the ball park names, awards (Mets suggestion) all sound good. I could also enjoy the ability to rename my minor league affiliates with my own choice of uniforms.
Oh, yeah, new owner would be great. Just between us.

Points system for cosmetic changes, fine. Otherwise.... not really for it. Player ratings? No way.
That's my two cents.
