Are there any new rules or any holds on signing extensions to players that have years of eligibility left?

Borrowing this thread for a quick question: How much are we allowed to go over budget? 5M right? I want to squeeze in another player, but am not sure on the budget.
I know teams have been 10M+ over budget the last seasons but we're never penalized...

Last year we did not have a VP of Baseball Operations to watch over things. Be Careful!

I was under budget until the last sim when the contracts of all the minor league players on my 40 man suddenly got included instead of just those on the 25 man roster. Is this normal?

Wow, I'm the team in the NL West closest to its' budget I know that we have never enforced them before, but what are the rules regarding this, is the budget completely ignorable and it's budget+cash or some other method?

In the past we were allowed to go over budget in the amount of available cash.

I just checked budget's yesterday and to be honest, you we're all ready at -9M before the 400k contracts got included.

BOLLICKS I swear to god that my financials said that I had 9 million for free agents and that was after my development cash and money for the draft. I mean, the game wouldn't of let me offer the contract if I didn't have that money available. Right? Last few seasons I wasn't active in the free agency so I didn't really pay attention or my budget was so far under it didn't really matter. But now I think I am spending exactly on my limit and a sim later I am way over.
