Hey guys, the NFL kicks off tomorrow with a ton of excitement. Oh how I wish there was a NFL version of OOTP, I miss Total Control Football...
Football is my favorite sport so here is my season predictions, chime in lets have fun!
AFC EAST
1- New England Patriots - favorites until someone actually takes this division title run away from them. 11 wins seems in reach
2- New York Jets - if talking won championships.... But it doesn't and neither does Mark Sanchez quarterbacked teams
3- Miami Dolphins - improved and will be tough team each week but Henne isn't the guy. 8 wins looks reasonable
4- Buffalo Bill - guess who's competing for top pick in the NFL Draft?!?! Long year in Buffalo coming up
AFC NORTH
1- Baltimore Ravens - very good defense now surrounded by a premier offense? good receivers and the ability of Ray Rice will give defense rest
2- Cincinnati Bengals - no excuses for Palmer to live up to his expectations with the weapons around him
3- Pittsburgh Steelers - will fight it out for division but I think the loss of Big Ben for 4 games sets them back, despite easy start to schedule
4- Cleveland Browns - If Delhomme did nothing with Carolina, why would he do something with Cleveland?
AFC SOUTH
1- Indianapolis Colts - again until someone beats them then this is their spot, will probably breeze to a 12-13 win regular season
2- Houston Texans - team always seems on the verge of breaking through but also has enough weaknesses to fall behind the Titans
3- Tennessee Titans - with CJ in the backfield anything is possible but when they stack the box and make Vince win games, I don't see too many W's
4- Jacksonville Jaguars -last year for Del Rio and Garrard, just don't see them winning more than 5
AFC WEST
1- San Diego Chargers - looks like they can run away with this division and be in prime position for 1st round bye
2- Kansas City Chiefs - good young RB tandem, good coaching, I think Chiefs surprise many this year by winning about 8
3- Oakland Raiders - will be improved with Campbell but still not good enough to win 8
4- Denver Broncos - too many injuries, lack of running depth and no Elvis means no chance for playoffs
NFC EAST
1- Dallas Cowboys - suspect offensive line but way too much talent on both sides of the ball
2- New York Giants - healthy, brought in nice talent, defensive line is ready to prove itself again, could challenge for division title
3- Washington Redskins - McNabb needs to stay healthy, Haynesworth needs to produce and they could win 9 games and still finish 3rd
4- Philadelphia Eagles - hard to pick them here as I can see them anywhere from 2-4, I think Kolb is going to be a force
NFC NORTH
1- Green Bay Packers - playmakers on defense and a high powered offense will make them very difficult to contend with all year
2- Minnesota Vikings - Sidney Rice injury hurts a lot and tough to see Favre repeating last season but AP will be fed the rock early and often
3- Chicago Bears - offense will improve with Martz just not enough to get them past the Packers or Vikings. Will be last year for Lovie Smith
4- Detroit Lions - much improved, a lot of nice young talent (Stafford, Best, Johnson, Suh, Delmas, Levy), but still very young
NFC SOUTH
1- New Orleans Saints - defending champions still out to prove it wasn't a fluke. Love watching this offense and 12-13 wins is a legit possibility
2- Atlanta Falcons - only team who can conceivably challenge Saints in division this year but will be battling for Wild Card spot this year as not in Saints league yet
3- Carolina Panthers - aggressive defense, very good running back combo but not good enough at QB to be a threat this year
4- Tampa Bay Buccaneers - will be better than last year but still not very good. Lucky to win 5 games this year
NFC WEST
1- San Francisco 49ers - best team in a bad division should be able to run off 10 wins and first playoff birth in a while
2- Arizona Cardinals - losing Warner is going to set this team back a few wins so lucky to finish .500 this year
3- Seattle Seahawks - year 1 in the Pete Carroll rebuilding plan but in a bad division can see them winning 7 games
4- St. Louis Rams - keeping Bradford healthy all year with a weak offensive line should be any Rams fans biggest concern
AFC WILD CARD: Cincinnati Bengals, Houston Texans
AFC 1st ROUND BYES: San Diego Chargers, Indianapolis Colts
AFC CHAMPIONS: Indianapolis Colts over New England Patriots (Baltimore has very legit shot here but I am a homer)
NFC WILD CARD: New York Giants; Atlanta Falcons (Vikings just miss the cut)
NFC 1st ROUND BYES: New Orleans Saints; Green Bay Packers
NFC CHAMPIONS: Green Bay Packers over New Orleans Saints
SUPER BOWL: Indianapolis over Green Bay
