Which First base should represent the AL in the 2014 All-Star game?

Why is a guy that isn't even in the top 3 first basemen in the league leading the vote? In 19 less games Guzman already has a higher VORP than Kjeldgaard. In addition, Guzman has a higher OPS, OPS+, wOBA, and ISO. He's even a much better hitter with runners in scoring position. The only thing I can figure is that too many GM's are too impressed with RBIs instead of numbers that actually reflect how good a player really is.

I can't believe Guzman didn't win this spot. This is a sham.

Because I have some free time (and noting that team records are a wash):
Guzman vs. Kjeldgaard:
Games: K-79, G-57 (you'll see why this matters in a moment) OPS: G- .903 (he slumped last week), K- .836 VORP: G- 17.0, K- 14.6 (in 22 fewer games!!!) Home Runs: K- 15, G- 12 Extra Base Hits: G- 25 (4 triples!!), K- 20
27 Guzman outs outscore 27 Kjeldgaard outs by 0.80 runs!
Guzman's also been better defensively in the small sample.
Again... This is ridiculous.

I believe many of us, including myself just looked at the stats on the screen. I know many of you will say take that extra few minutes and look but I don't have the time to search the game and go over everything. Brock got my vote.
Idk if it's just me but I don't care whether my guy make the team or not. I just don't take the pride in it, I guess. I care whether my team wins the championship or no so i would my team has been a failure so far in PBL.

I think anything that contributes to the history of the league is a valuable thing and that's what things like All-Star Selections and Individual Awards are for. Sure championships are certainly the ultimate goal, but personal accolades are great too.
