Hard to argue against Texas but I guess one could say that he did do a great job but most of his team was there when PBL was set up. And the second place team assembled a group of veterans that people thought were done that eventually fell 10 games behind a terrific Tampa club only to shake up the face of its franchise midway through the season to come from behind and win division title, second year in a row by the way... I am just saying.... lol

I think Derek gave Sam the third place vote for Sam trading himself out of the playoff race!

All kidding aside when looking over the AL and NL for this award there were soo many good options. Some teams got consideration for their dominance, others for their rebuilding efforts, etc. Teams like White Sox and Angels were accurately recognized after struggling for two seasons and the list goes on.
This is why I like the private voting with a 1st, 2nd, 3rd place vote, it acknowledges people for jobs well done as opposed to one guy getting all the votes. Even if you do not receive a 1st place or 2nd place vote it, being recognized by your peers is still a good goal.

well done to whoever gave me a vote - thanks!
oh and congratulations to Randy of course - you've developed that team at just the right pace and patiently sucked up losing for two years to turn a bunch of specs into one of the top 2 or 3 teams in the league.

You've won your award.... now nuke the team!
Starting over from scratch would be the manly thing to do.
