Jeter appears to have no ratings at any position now and Double A first baseman Neil French has no defensive ratings at all.
I haven't seen this happen before, is it a bug or does OOTP randomly do this? I can understand jeter to some extent after all he was getting a poor SS and he is 38 but French is 29 and played over 800 innings in 2012 at 1B & C, surely that should get him some defensive ratings? He turned 68 double plays and stil has a 0 rating for DP's

Does he not have fielding ratings or position ratings? If he has fielding ratings, then does it matter whether or not he has position ratings? That's not a rhetorical question, I really just don't know the answer.

The fielding ratings need to be at a certain threshold, combined with experience at a position, in order for position rating to show. SS is the hardest infield position, but with his declining ratings OOTP doesn't think he can play there. As he doesn't play anywhere else, this shows as no rating. He could still play SS only marginally worse than last season as he has retained his experience, it just doesn't show.

That's what I figured giants but with Defense ratings of 3 (inf range), 6 (inf E), 5 (inf arm), 5 (DP) he ought to have some positon rating even if its just 1. Instead there's just nothing at all under the four defensive ratings
So in respect of what he's done for the Evil Empire he'll spend the last year of his contract at DH. I just can't bring myself to cut him, I know I traded Super Mario but he could still do a job for someone, hopefully Jeter will do the decent thing at the end of 2013 and bow out gracefully because he's not getting another $21m contract to DH

In the leagues I have played further than 2012, that always happens to Jeter for some reason. He can still play shortstop though. And if you get him at the right time, he will sign a $1-2 million contract to be a bench guy until his early 40's. I highly doubt he is going to retire after the 2013 season.
