Sure moves fast, I lose focus for a week and a whole page of threads goes up!
Guess it was just the wrong time to miss, I shall try not to do it again.

I don't think I lost focus, I just don't see what more I could have done?
With the team over budget since the first season, the starters mainly too old to trade in the PBL youth movement, no-one in the farm with any promise and no-one left in the draft with more than one star by the time yanks draft.
I've just been sticking band-aids all over gaping wounds as an alternative to tanking completely

ya the draft is f'd up pretty badly. you should be picking up players through the draft with comp and supp picks in the first, but the pool is too bad that theres no one left after the top half.

I don't think the draft should necessarily be made that much better though. I agree with who posted before, you end up with too many good prospects out there.

I don't think it should be enormously better, but sure as hell should be able to get ML quality stars and major leaguers throughout the first 2 rounds

I don't think it should be enormously better, but sure as hell should be able to get ML quality stars and major leaguers throughout the first 2 rounds The problem is that their isn't any perceived value past the first few picks. With the league's scouting turned off (and I think this has a LOT to do with it), you see all of the player's for what they currently are. That means current ratings, and current ceilings. There's no speculation, and no variation. In the real world, there are all sorts of things that make prospects desirable targets in the first few rounds. Its just kind of hard to see that value when you're staring at a bunch of "1 star" and "half star" specs midway through the second.
