file is up --
guys, i am going to try and sim tomorrow but I am going away for a week on family vacation (taking boy to disney). Simming will probably take place really late, but if something comes up then I will post.
Trying to juggle a lot this week, lets hope we can pull it off.

Let me do the trades now and then I will re-upload the file... May be easier to do it now.. I will post when new file is done - so for those who didn't upload, just wait til I give word, saves you from doing it again later.

David Price accepted my 6 year/27 million extension. Loving it.

David Price accepted my 6 year/27 million extension. Loving it. This is great for you but these deals are going to be bad for the league. Not quite sure why this is happening. Almost seems like a glitch or something. Locking up price for $3.5M for next three years then $4.5, $5.5, $6.5M makes it so these guys will never see free agency, thus leaving a terrible free agents pool. This could become a bigger problem than having all this money. Why are players accepting so much less in contract extension talks? Tampa, not that I think you did anything wrong, it was just a perfect example of the game and their extension talks. I don't want you to think I singled you out here.

There is no way to "raise the difficulty" of contract talks right? Have a nice trip Commish. Are you going down to Florida to help Carl Crawford pack?

Yea I don't blame you at all for locking a guy like Price up for the long term. It just doesn't seem realistic to me though when I hear reports of players in FA going for 20-30m per! I mean I am sure Price isn't as greedy as a Kubel or K-Rod but you would think the players association would frown on Prices contract lol. Its definitely going to make it hard for a team like mine with money to spend to get better, that's for sure! I have no intentions on paying Kubel the 20m he was demanding to start let alone 35m!! I hope this fixes itself at some point in the upcoming years! I am new to the game but does this seem to be a problem that happens a lot?

The David Price deal seems reasonable to me, although 6 years seems a bit long from a player's pov. Price has great ratings, but that's like saying he's a workout warrior. The reality is that he is 16-20 with an era around 5 on a team that won 197 games over the last 2 years. His new deal is a pay increase and provides 27 mil guaranteed money- almost 3 times the amount of his last deal. You can see why he accepted.

Maybe it has something to do with how well some teams are playing. The guys I've tried to lock up long term have been pretty adamant that it's going to take lots and lots of money.
