A PBL tradition. It's time to stand in front of the media and answer some questions about the upcoming season.
1. Going into the off season what did you hope to get done? How did it go?
2. So how is you team going to look this season. Are you winning your division? Competing for a wildcard? Winning the World Series? What are your expectations for 2068?
3. Overall how is your farm system looking these days? Who are your top prospects? When can your fans expect to see them on the big club?
4. Speaking of the fans - What do you think the mood is of your team's fanbase? What are they saying on Sports talk radio?
5. Who is one current PBL player that you feel deserves to be a first ballot Hall of Famer when he retires?
6. In real life how is your favorite MLB team doing this season, and what is the first move you would make if you took over as their GM?
7. What is your prediction for the 2068 PBL World Series?

1. Going into the off season what did you hope to get done? How did it go? Make choices about who stays and who goes. Protect Rule 5's. Watch, just in case the financial situation miraculously improved by magic, witchcraft, or Jobu (which it did not).
2. So how is you team going to look this season. Are you winning your division? Competing for a wildcard? Winning the World Series? What are your expectations for 2068? Again this season, I am hoping incremental improvements in the young talent already here will give us more than incremental improvements in the field. And this year I am really, really, really, going to resist incurring any more debt whatsoever.
3. Overall how is your farm system looking these days? Who are your top prospects? When can your fans expect to see them on the big club? My #2, Bautista, is in Spring Training with the club, but is not doing enough to make the Opening Day roster, so will finish his development at AAA to start the season. IF he continues to improve, he will be the first called up this season. My #1 and #3, Laird and Martinez, are due in 70 and 71. If they all top out and are int he lineup at the same time, maybe the tide turns in Montreal?
4. Speaking of the fans - What do you think the mood is of your team's fanbase? What are they saying on Sports talk radio? "This idiot GM has had the better part of 30 years to do something with this team and has made the post-season once in that time, only to be swept in the Division Series! He has to go!"
And, because it's Montreal of course... "Ce GM est de la merde, et du porc, et le roi des idiots. Pire encore, il n'est même pas français."
It's not pretty! (Ce n'est pas joli!)
5. Who is one current PBL player that you feel deserves to be a first ballot Hall of Famer when he retires? Feliz Arroyo, Atlanta Braves, but having played most of his career in NY.
6. In real life how is your favorite MLB team doing this season, and what is the first move you would make if you took over as their GM? I am a Blue Jays fan. This year was supposed to be the year they took it to another level, maybe even a 1992/93 level. Despite very good pitching, their bats have been spotty at best and they are severely under-performing. Despite that, their win-loss is trending at their 1993 pace, so you never know? My first move as new GM would be to call a very good financial planner (because I would not be there long)!
7. What is your prediction for the 2068 PBL World Series? The Expos will not be there. Although if we sneak into the post-season......... Never know!

1. Going into the off season what did you hope to get done? How did it go? Hoped beyond hope that our owner would improve our budget which is just so tight. Admittedly this is of our own doing as we have extended the stars like Sato, Dorsett, Luna and Phillips but it has left us massively constrained on adding supplementary pieces. We had to replace departing LF Iwao Sato who will be sorely missed after his great performance last season but he was brought in on a 'prove it' deal and he certainly did. We've replaced him with a Wook-Jin Ki on a similar 'prove it' type arrangement.
2. So how is you team going to look this season. Are you winning your division? Competing for a wildcard? Winning the World Series? What are your expectations for 2068? Truthfully I can't see us winning the division as we aren't sufficiently improved enough to catch Oakland and, in addition, I expect Colorado to improve. On our day we can be a challenge for any team but I fear that any injury to our big names could derail us quite quickly.
3. Overall how is your farm system looking these days? Who are your top prospects? When can your fans expect to see them on the big club? Our big knuckleball prospect, Bo Watson, will start in AAA and could make the big leagues later this year though I'm more inclined to give him a full year at AAA right now. Our top hitting prospect, Ognjeslav Milatovic from Bosnia, keeps proising great things but has yet to really show it at any level in the minors. Mind you we thought the same of Wayne Dorsett and he has since turned out OK!
4. Speaking of the fans - What do you think the mood is of your team's fanbase? What are they saying on Sports talk radio? LA is a difficult sports market at the best of times and fans are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the seeming lack of progression in post season success. Sato, Luna and Dorsett are loved but the owners consistently fail to increase the rest of the player budget and this is where most of the fans ire is aimed at.
5. Who is one current PBL player that you feel deserves to be a first ballot Hall of Famer when he retires? At the risk of picking a homer then Kenzaburo Sato is a clear first ballot inductee. He's already 8th in all time WAR and still has some seasons left to overtake luminaries like Raymond Page, Duane Hansen and Alex Rodriguez.
6. In real life how is your favorite MLB team doing this season, and what is the first move you would make if you took over as their GM? Full disclosure I am a Yankees fan as many of you will have seen with the photo I put on the forum recently. At the deadline the priority has to be to find an outfield bat. I'm not convinced the trade deadline will prove very active as with the expanded playoffs more teams are in the hunt and so will be more inclined to hang on to those big bats. It's still possible, though somewhat unlikely, that the Yanks look to Jasson Dominguez to see if he can provide the 'shot in the arm' like De Los Santos has provided for the Reds.
7. What is your prediction for the 2068 PBL World Series? Cincinnati over Detroit in 6.

1. Going into the off season what did you hope to get done? How did it go?
Plug a few holes and get younger. Mostly successful on the first (RH OF, RP help), mostly failed at the second.
2. So how is you team going to look this season. Are you winning your division? Competing for a wildcard? Winning the World Series? What are your expectations for 2068?
We won the division by 28 games last year and return the most of the core for at least one more ride, so winning the division is the bare minimum. Back-to-back Series titles is the goal.
3. Overall how is your farm system looking these days? Who are your top prospects? When can your fans expect to see them on the big club?
Pretty good. Light on infielders, but five top 100 prospects led by CF Bradley Shaw. SP Al Helton and Swiss Army Knife Cisco Jimenez are poised to make an impact this year. Helton is a good all-around groundball pitcher that projects as a future #2 starter. Jimenez is a classic leadoff hitter.
4. Speaking of the fans - What do you think the mood is of your team's fanbase? What are they saying on Sports talk radio?
We're the champs, so pretty happy I hope. I'm sure the naysayers that have been complaining about how we're built for the regular season and can't get it done in the playoffs are quiet now. That'll last until our first three game losing streak.
5. Who is one current PBL player that you feel deserves to be a first ballot Hall of Famer when he retires?
I have to back my guy and go with Jose Varquez. 3 MVPs, 2 other years that were better than any of his MVP seasons, and 99.3 WAR and counting. Sato is the other slam dunk answer. For my guys, Aureliano Cervantes and Dan Gallaghe are also on track to get in.
6. In real life how is your favorite MLB team doing this season, and what is the first move you would make if you took over as their GM?
The Cubs are in year 7 of wasting a Series-winning core of players. I don't see the current core having more that a puncher's chance at a title, so time to sell everyone with contract's expiring this year or next.
7. What is your prediction for the 2068 PBL World Series?
Reds over Rangers in 6.

1. Going into the off season what did you hope to get done? How did it go?
Openings at SS and 3B (fill those) and add an elite RHP to the bullpen. We were able to add a SS Ricardo Marquez via Rule V from Seattle and signed free agent Jorge Nieto for some extra depth. At 3B, we brought back Jorge Gonzales on a two year deal after a few months of letting him test free agency. Former Rockies closer Marvin Wright was brought in to fill the "elite RHP" role we were looking to fill.
2. So how is you team going to look this season. Are you winning your division? Competing for a wildcard? Winning the World Series? What are your expectations for 2068?
Not winning the division would be a major disappointment at this time. It's World Series or bust in Cincinnati.
3. Overall how is your farm system looking these days? Who are your top prospects? When can your fans expect to see them on the big club?
Our system is ranked 23rd out of 32 teams, but that ranking is deceptive. We have four top 100 prospects, but the criticism of the talent we have is that it is simply further off from making an impact at the PBL level. This is a good problem for our organization, because we simply don't have the at bats available at the moment.
Our top prospect is OF Antonio Gonzales who is currently in our International Complex. Our next three prospects are at the A or A- level.
4. Speaking of the fans - What do you think the mood is of your team's fanbase? What are they saying on Sports talk radio?
Anxious. Other teams fan bases would call them spoiled, but Reds fans are three years from their last World Series victory. How long will the window stay open?
5. Who is one current PBL player that you feel deserves to be a first ballot Hall of Famer when he retires?
Arizona OF David Peters, with the caveat that he's going into his age 32 season. He still has to produce at a high level, but what he's done so far in his career has been one of the best in PBL history.
6. In real life how is your favorite MLB team doing this season, and what is the first move you would make if you took over as their GM?
Not well, I'm a "spoiled" Cardinals fan. A fan of a team with 5 playoff wins since 2014, apparently that's spoiled.
I would make an obvious move that has been needed for multiple years, which is getting a true ace starting pitcher. Scherzer should've been a Cardinal multiple times over the years, but hey apparently the Cardinals are a poor small market team according to the owners (yawn).
7. What is your prediction for the 2068 PBL World Series?
Reds vs Rangers rematch from a few seasons ago, with the Reds taking revenge in 6 games.

1. Going into the off season what did you hope to get done? How did it go?
I need to add pitching to replace the departing Pablo Encarnacion, Roy Pike and Martin Correa. We got Ignacio Rosa in a trade from the Reds, added free agent Jung-Choon Park and we are counting on rookie Ron White to make the jump from Double A to lock up a spot in the rotation. So far in Spring Training White has looked great so I feel like we had a solid off season.
2. So how is you team going to look this season. Are you winning your division? Competing for a wildcard? Winning the World Series? What are your expectations for 2068?
The fun thing about playing in the AL East is anyone can and does win the division. The Orioles took it last season, I finished on top in 2066. Boston was in first in 2065 and the BlueJays won it in 64. In fact no team has repeated as AL East Champions since the Yankees in 2057! With that said- I have spent more money than anyone else and feel that I have the talent in it's prime- Guillermo Rodriguez, Jose Guillen, Lane Fifield, Jose Costello, there is no excuse for not at the very least making the playoffs.
3. Overall how is your farm system looking these days? Who are your top prospects? When can your fans expect to see them on the big club?
I am very excited to see how Ron White performs in his rookie season. Last season's top draft pick Tony Aponte is on the fast track and could be the starting shortstop as early as next season. We also have a couple of promising pitching prospects in Gary Hayes (eta-2069) and Artie McClure (eta-2071)
4. Speaking of the fans - What do you think the mood is of your team's fanbase? What are they saying on Sports talk radio?
Angry! Frustrated! The Yankees keep winning between 86-89 games and seem unable to break through to join the elite teams teams of the PBL despite having all the resources. The fans are demanding change and won't accept anything short of World Championship. The seat I am sitting on is Red Hot!
5. Who is one current PBL player that you feel deserves to be a first ballot Hall of Famer when he retires?
Miguel Angel Andrade. So strange to see him in a Diamondbacks cap. Ten time stolen base champion, 5 time all star, multiple gold gloves. Should reach 3,000 hits. Deserving of a first ballot election.
6. In real life how is your favorite MLB team doing this season, and what is the first move you would make if you took over as their GM?
I am the rare Red Sox fan that still supports Chaim Bloom. I believe in his vision and love what he has done with the farm system. Lot's of great athletic talent. I believe his focus on speed and arms will payoff. If I was to take over I would stay the course and continue to bring in young talent. I would be a seller this trade deadline and move assets like Nick Pivetta, James Paxton and Kenley Janson.
7. What is your prediction for the 2068 PBL World Series? I am going to predict Minnesota over Arizona in 5 games.

1. Going into the off season what did you hope to get done? How did it go?
It's been a pretty quiet offseason for the Royals - very little budget room, so its mostly been trolling the waiver wire. Added a few potential DH power bats to hopefully boost our run production, and added some $$ to development.
2. So how is you team going to look this season. Are you winning your division? Competing for a wildcard? Winning the World Series? What are your expectations for 2068?
We'll be lucky to avoid the cellar in the AL South this season.
3. Overall how is your farm system looking these days? Who are your top prospects? When can your fans expect to see them on the big club?
I'm disappointed that we haven't been able to build a better system yet - might start dealing off some assets as the trade deadline approaches. 19 year old CF Mike Heethe is our top batting prospect, and Kevin Ford is our best pitching prospect, but neither are close to MLB ready yet.
4. Speaking of the fans - What do you think the mood is of your team's fanbase? What are they saying on Sports talk radio?
The fans have been remarkably patient for a team that hasn't made the playoffs since 2056. No death threats yet, as far as I'm aware.
5. Who is one current PBL player that you feel deserves to be a first ballot Hall of Famer when he retires?
Too new to the league to have an informed opinion on that.
6. In real life how is your favorite MLB team doing this season, and what is the first move you would make if you took over as their GM?
I'm a Nats fan, and we're rebuilding. Pumped that they drafted Dylan Crews from LSU - reminds me of Bryce Harper a bit. My first move as a newly hired GM would be to hire Mike Rizzo to immediately replace me.
7. What is your prediction for the 2068 PBL World Series?
Detroit over Cinci in six.

1. Going into the off season what did you hope to get done? How did it go? Cleveland has a bunch of ML talent working its way through the ranks. The off season is spent figuring out who comes up next and who gets out of the way. Fortunately last season's roster isn't stocked with All Stars so it's not hard to say goodbye. Thank you for your service. Best of luck. I'll never forget old what's his name.
2. So how is you team going to look this season. Are you winning your division? Competing for a wildcard? Winning the World Series? What are your expectations for 2068? In Cleveland we are strong believers in tradition so we'll let Detroit and Minnesota duke it out again. We hope to play better than .500 ball, score enough runs to worry the aristocracy and play better defense after the other guys hit the ball, which will be most of the time.
3. Overall how is your farm system looking these days? Who are your top prospects? When can your fans expect to see them on the big club? I never cease to be amazed how quickly our pitching prospects turn to sh*t. When other GMs talk about pitching prospects I have no idea what that looks like. Even if Cleveland had one I'd never believe he'll pitch in the majors. We've got a few decent bats including a very young #9 prospect Alfredo Hernandez in INT. Someday he'll set foot on Picard Field as long as he doesn't try to pitch.
4. Speaking of the fans - What do you think the mood is of your team's fanbase? What are they saying on Sports talk radio? The good news is Cleveland fans are very loyal. The bad news is they want to keep their favorite players forever, and they don't like to lose. That makes sense to them, so, yeah, I'm an idiot for not sinking the entire budget into a few players even if they are on their way down.
5. Who is one current PBL player that you feel deserves to be a first ballot Hall of Famer when he retires? Makalani Korra. Best player ever? No. First ballot HOF? In a heartbeat.
6. In real life how is your favorite MLB team doing this season, and what is the first move you would make if you took over as their GM? I can still name the starting lineup of the 1967 Cubs. Billie Williams is an all time favorite. I have an autographed picture of Brooks Robinson that he signed at his home after he retired. When the O's won the World Series in 1983 I held my son up in front of the TV so he could watch Eddie Murray do his home run trot. Today I can't name a player on either team, but I'd like to manage the Yankees so I could trade Aaron Judge to Baltimore.
7. What is your prediction for the 2068 PBL World Series? Cincinnati over the other guys. Let's make it Detroit. You can always count on Carl to get close.

Big thank you to Mac for posting these! It was on my list of things to do for Sunday but very much appreciate the initiative and beating me to it. 1. Going into the off season what did you hope to get done? How did it go? Priority one was finding a catcher. That had been a failed priority the last two seasons. We dialed our player development budget way back and used that cash to sign Armando Gomez. Mission accomplished. With some additional funds still available plus a preseason budget bump we were able to go purchase a new middle infield for the season. Eliot Bernard and Armando Torres were brought in on single season deals. Both had scoffed at a one year contract earlier but came crawling back when they found themselves without a team when Spring Training started. Finally we were also able to sign Elvin Johnston to shore up the rotation also on a single season deal. When all was said and done Cardinals invested close to $35M in this season's active roster. That doubled the payroll. 2. So how is you team going to look this season. Are you winning your division? Competing for a wildcard? Winning the World Series? What are your expectations for 2068?Catching the Reds for the division would involve major injuries to the Cinci squad and some heavily unbalanced pythag records. I don't really see that happening. However, I can see this team being in the wild card hunt. 3. Overall how is your farm system looking these days? Who are your top prospects? When can your fans expect to see them on the big club?I'd rate the farm good not great. There is an abundance of bubble major league talent and roll players in the system but only 3 guys we really have our eyes on. We are still hoping for great things from 2066 #2 overall pick Paul King. But he was already a bit slow in development before the 10 month injury that ended his '67 season. So far his projected ratings have not taken a hit but we'll have to see how he bounces back. David Stevens was just drafted last season but we hope we can see him in the show in the next couple of years. Lou Markakis could provide some pitching help in a season or two although it is still to be determined what his roll will be. 4. Speaking of the fans - What do you think the mood is of your team's fanbase? What are they saying on Sports talk radio? The fans are crazy excited. Fan interest levels are at all time highs since this GM has taken the reigns. A lot of it may have to do with bringing in past their prime, highly popular players but win or lose the fans have been happy to come out to the ball park to see them play. Ticket sales are up. Revenue is up. A playoff run (even a short one) could really be impactful for the organization at this point. 5. Who is one current PBL player that you feel deserves to be a first ballot Hall of Famer when he retires? There are a few but I'll call out Makalani Korra and Kenzaburo Sato as no brainers. 6. In real life how is your favorite MLB team doing this season, and what is the first move you would make if you took over as their GM?I'm admittedly very out of date with MLB. I just don't pay much attention and haven't in years. I don't really even have a team I'd call my own any more. My brother (a huge Reds fan) has been talking to me about their exciting young team lately so I might tune into them a bit. 7. What is your prediction for the 2068 PBL World Series?Expos won't be there. I'll take Athletics over Reds in 7.

1. Going into the off season what did you hope to get done? How did it go? The plan was to improve on my terrible offense from last year, so I wanted to pick up a bat or two. Luckily, I was able to pick up some good players at decent salary. Miguel Andrade two years at 14.8M/year with a team option for a 3rd year. The guy is older but can still bring it. Yang Siu three years at 15.5M/year with a team option for a 4th year, and surprisingly Angel Perez that I threw out an eight year $9M/year offer, with an opt out after year three and he accepted!! With a slight hit to middle infield defense we should be able to have an infield with everyone >0.800+ OPS.
2. So how is you team going to look this season. Are you winning your division? Competing for a wildcard? Winning the World Series? What are your expectations for 2068? Likely not overtaking SF, but we should be very competitive and make the playoffs. 3. Overall how is your farm system looking these days? Who are your top prospects? When can your fans expect to see them on the big club? Decent. Currently ranked #7, but SP Hunter Coleman, who played well in ST, will likely join the Bigs this year.
4. Speaking of the fans - What do you think the mood is of your team's fanbase? What are they saying on Sports talk radio? Bringing in Fan favorites has brought up Fan interest to 100. So they are loving our plan…so far.
5. Who is one current PBL player that you feel deserves to be a first ballot Hall of Famer when he retires? Yusuke Tanaka. Was a BEAST from 2054 – 2063. Currently at 550 HRs, 1500 RBIs and 71.5 WAR. Is under contract for three more years, so he should add to those totals. It broke my heart when the new TB owner traded him. He should have been a Ray for life.
6. In real life how is your favorite MLB team doing this season, and what is the first move you would make if you took over as their GM? I don’t necessarily have a favorite per se, but I follow the Red Sox as I live in the market area. They NEED to loosen the purse strings and spend some money and stop playing like a small market team.
7. What is your prediction for the 2068 PBL World Series? WS has been like flipping a coin the past few years. If you get to the playoffs, you have a chance. I will go Twins beating the Reds.

1. Going into the off season what did you hope to get done? How did it go? No expectations really. We wanted to try some players who never got a shot or lost their only one. Our minors is full of potential talent. We got a pick for losing Andrade which was a good surprise.
2. So how is you team going to look this season. Are you winning your division? Competing for a wildcard? Winning the World Series? What are your expectations for 2068? We are going for a 500 season hopefully.
3. Overall how is your farm system looking these days? Who are your top prospects? When can your fans expect to see them on the big club? Farm system is looking strong. Alan Moraine and Christian Snow should be up with the club July.
4. Speaking of the fans - What do you think the mood is of your team's fanbase? What are they saying on Sports talk radio? I think they are optimistic. Even after a few dismal seasons we are looking to move in an upward direction.
5. Who is one current PBL player that you feel deserves to be a first ballot Hall of Famer when he retires? I think Andrade should be considered with him he lead stolen bases 10 seasons on a really mediocre or poor team. Will he make it? Probably not.
6. In real life how is your favorite MLB team doing this season, and what is the first move you would make if you took over as their GM? The Phillies. Ha Ha. They are doing ok but should be better. I would trade for Ohtani if I was Phillies GM. They have the farm system
7. What is your prediction for the 2068 PBL World Series? Orioles and Diamondbacks with the Orioles taking it.

1. Going into the off season what did you hope to get done? How did it go?
Trying to keep the band together for another year. The owner cut $8 million, they gave $12 million back in preseason after most FA's have been signed. The revolving door at second base continues for another season.
2. So how is you team going to look this season. Are you winning your division? Competing for a wildcard? Winning the World Series? What are your expectations for 2068?
Goal is to win the AL Central, the last two seasons have come down to the last series. A nice goal would be to make 5 World Series in 10 seasons, but one always needs some breaks.
3. Overall how is your farm system looking these days? Who are your top prospects? When can your fans expect to see them on the big club?
Despite not high rankings, there has been some success. Masanori Ikeda returns for his first full season in RF and former first round pick Jorge Moran will start the season at CF. The rotation remains homegrown.
4. Speaking of the fans - What do you think the mood is of your team's fanbase? What are they saying on Sports talk radio?
How about winning a game 7?
5. Who is one current PBL player that you feel deserves to be a first ballot Hall of Famer when he retires?
Washington has two in Jose Varquez and Aureliano Cervantes, which has been a big reason they have been good for so long.
6. In real life how is your favorite MLB team doing this season, and what is the first move you would make if you took over as their GM?
Hey, Cleveland is in first place. You don't need to be faster than the bear, just the person next to you.
7. What is your prediction for the 2068 PBL World Series?
BART Series - SF vs. OAK

1. Going into the off season what did you hope to get done? How did it go? Still being financially strapped, there wasn't much I could do. One spot in the rotation had to be filled but, that was done internally.
2. So how is you team going to look this season. Are you winning your division? Competing for a wildcard? Winning the World Series? What are your expectations for 2068? Probably the same. Battling for the first draft pick.
3. Overall how is your farm system looking these days? Who are your top prospects? When can your fans expect to see them on the big club? The farm system is getting to be pretty good. I refuse to name names of who I like. The last time I gushed over a prospect *cough*Louis Ferneyhough*cough* became injury plagued and never lived up to his potential.
4. Speaking of the fans - What do you think the mood is of your team's fanbase? What are they saying on Sports talk radio? We've been bad for so long I don't think we are even mentioned much. The Seahawks, Kraken and yes, the SuperSonics (PLEASE, PLEASE RL NBA bring them back!!) are the kings of the city. I'm surprised we are still in Seattle.
5. Who is one current PBL player that you feel deserves to be a first ballot Hall of Famer when he retires? Look at the milestones for this upcoming season. All of those guys within 2500 hits and still playing at a high level.
6. In real life how is your favorite MLB team doing this season, and what is the first move you would make if you took over as their GM? I am a RL Mariner fan. I'm very disappointed in them this season. Their K numbers are horrible. Chasing way more than last season. They have shown signs just before the break. I would not make as many trades as has been the norm since Trader Jerry took over.
7. What is your prediction for the 2068 PBL World Series? Reds/Rangers with the Reds coming out as the victors this year.

1. Going into the off season what did you hope to get done? How did it go?
Main goal was to move whatever assets we could to improve our system.
It went as well as one could expect. This coming season will be about giving youngsters a chance to see what they can do.
2. So how is you team going to look this season. Are you winning your division? Competing for a wildcard? Winning the World Series? What are your expectations for 2068?
Very very green.
2068 expectations will be measured in individual cases not wins & loses.
3. Overall how is your farm system looking these days? Who are your top prospects? When can your fans expect to see them on the big club?
We focused on bulking up our system all offseason. Top guys Paul 👑 King, SP R. Hopf, & SP J. Lyons are the future and fans excited.
4. Speaking of the fans - What do you think the mood is of your team's fanbase? What are they saying on Sports talk radio?
We’re coming into our 3rd season in Miami and we the moves we’ve made this offseason I believe we finally have a 💯 consensus on our direction. Finally 😂.
5. Who is one current PBL player that you feel deserves to be a first ballot Hall of Famer when he retires?
I’d say CF Kenzaburo Sato. It’s been fun to watch his career.
6. In real life how is your favorite MLB team doing this season, and what is the first move you would make if you took over as their GM?
Texas Rangers - Our player development is spotty at best. I’d money whip anyone from the TB front office to recreate that for ourselves.
7. What is your prediction for the 2068 PBL World Series?
Cincy & Baltimore
Cincy in 7.

1. Going into the off season what did you hope to get done? How did it go?Entering the off-season, the Giants front office team set out to focus on two areas. After struggling for a long stretch early in the '67 season we felt we needed to seek upgrades to the rotation and the pen. Also, the 1B position has been without a strong, everyday player for quite a few years. So, a significant goal was to acquire a good hitting, good fielding 1B. We feel we succeeded by signing: - 1B Rafael Perez -- We really wanted to snag Perez, a proven run-producer who fields his position very well. At almost 31 years old, his best years likely are behind him but as a RHB he compliments our young LHBs. Our lineup will be much stronger when facing LHP with Perez sandwiched between the lefties. We paid dearly for him, but he should be a solid fixture at 1B into his mid-30s. An added bonus is that he no longer will be manning the first sack for the Nationals.
- SP Jo Sato -- Our rotation has been pretty solid, but we needed a quality SP to upgrade the talent and, by extension, add more depth. Sato, a 6 time double-digit winner, fills the bill. An added bonus is that he no longer will be pitching for the Padres.
- SP Jorge Segura -- Not satisfied acquiring just one SP, we acquired a second. Segura has put up mediocre career stats to date, but we see potential to contribute as a solid SP, especially given that he will be supported by a strong bullpen and defense. If he struggles as a SP, he has the potential to excel in relief.
- RP Juan Carlos Munoz -- We feel the low-dollar contract we signed with Munoz will prove to be an excellent value. Our staff feel that he can be much more effective than he was pitching for Toronto. Hopefully the change in scenery will enable him to blossom for the orange & black. We plan to utilize him as a setup man
In summary, we had money to spend and we spent it. We feel we are stronger and well-positioned to make a strong run in 2068. Our primary concern is that with our depth, but no superstars, we may be more suited for regular season success than we are for the playoffs. But, as we all know, once a team reaches the playoffs anything can happen. 2. So how is you team going to look this season. Are you winning your division? Competing for a wildcard? Winning the World Series? What are your expectations for 2068?Our goal is to capture the NL West division title and progress deep into the playoffs. Reaching the World Series would be a thrill. Winning would be a PBL dream come true. 3. Overall how is your farm system looking these days? Who are your top prospects? When can your fans expect to see them on the big club?We are thrilled that even though we have promoted several prospects in recent years and are the defending NL West champs our farm system, currently ranked 2nd, remains one of the strongest in the PBL. The top three prospects are: - C John Trevenot (PBL prospect rank #6) -- A former 1st pick in the draft, Trevenot is developing slowly. He still is learning how to drive the ball for power and to avoid strikeouts. Barring injury at the PBL level, we plan to let him gain more experience at the AAA level in '68 before promoting him in '69.
- SP Ryan Roberge (#8) -- Roberge, a former 8th round pick, has surprised all of our coaches with his rapid, unexpected development. We tested him in spring training and in 5 starts he compiled a 0.54 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP. Nevertheless, we plan to provide him with an additional season of development at the AAA level.
- SP Paco Romero (#32) -- Romero is another top prospect who is developing well. Last season in AA, he posted a 17-7 record and a 4.20 ERA. This year he will pitch for AAA Fresno. It might be two years before he is ready for the big show.
4. Speaking of the fans - What do you think the mood is of your team's fanbase? What are they saying on Sports talk radio?Over many years, the franchise has succeeded in building what is now a huge fan base with fans who are extremely loyal. Further, the off-season moves helped increase fan interest in the potential for the upcoming season. Fans are buzzing with excitement. Sports talk show gurus are projecting great things for our home team. Great things that will be difficult to achieve. There is one way to find out if the excitement is well-founded. Play the games. Let's play ball! 5. Who is one current PBL player that you feel deserves to be a first ballot Hall of Famer when he retires?Carl Holmes should be elected on the 1st ballot when he is eligible (the next election, I believe). With 720 HRs among his career accomplishments, he deserves the honor. But he has retired... Among current players, I will give Jin Daikawa the nod. He has been a consistent, dominant run-producer for many years. At 32 years old he doesn't seem to be slowing down. In fact, he seems to be improving. He should have many years ahead of him to add to his career stats and accomplishments. 6. In real life how is your favorite MLB team doing this season, and what is the first move you would make if you took over as their GM?The Red Sox are hot, but realistically their playoff hopes are very thin. Aside from Brayan Bello, who is proving himself to be their new staff ace, they desperately need to upgrade their pitching staff. But the Sox have already moved Bello to the top of the rotation. So... If I took over right now, I would do anything I could to ensure that Marcelo Mayer is ready to play SS for the Sox next season. The SS position has been a disaster this season, in the field especially and at the plate. It's Mayer time. 7. What is your prediction for the 2068 PBL World Series?I will go with the Reds (if they beat us in the NLCS ) over the Rangers.
