1. Review your squads 2058 performance to expectations. What were the key factors in your season?
>THE key factor for us was the Yankees not performing to previous historical performance. That left 1st place open and we were the beneficiary of that opportunity. Despite a thin pitching staff, our offense managed to keep us in games and we somehow won the division! Definitely not our expectation in Spring Training, but it's baseball and another reminder anything can happen in a long season.
2. What team statistic or rating do you expect to fluctuate the most from 2058 to 2059? Why?
>Home runs allowed should be a lot better this year for us. A focus on movement in both SP and RP give us a chance to keep the ball in the park, and our defense should catch most of those balls in play.
3. How are your financials looking? What are your primary financial goals and priorities?
>You wouldn't believe me if I told you, but I'm going to tell you anyway! Our fan interest is 65! We were at 46 at the end of 2053, just before we took over. We are also on pace to have 50,000 attendance per game this year. If all goes according to plan, we should continue to raise our budget. And that, is one of our top priorities!
4. Who do you predict will be your team's 2059 MVP? What is that player's history?
> OF Dave Gonzalez has been a 135 OPS+ player for us in 270 PBL games, worth 7.5 WAR. He will undoubtedly continue his pace and be our best player this year.
5. What is your scouting report on your top prospect? How much long term impact do you think he can have on your squad?
> SP Manuel Perez - "Everyone raves about his elite stuff. Perez has the potential to develop into a number 1 starter." No, this is not my former first overall knuckleballer.
6. How did the state of your division influence your team-building strategy this offseason?
> This division is wide open. And we intend to take top spot again. I fortified our rotation (in as much as our budget could), our bullpen is better and one more year of experience for our young core of hitters. Why not us?!
7. If you could acquire any player in the league right now with his contract intact and plug him into your roster, who would it be?
> Washington's SP Mike Hernandez. Cheap and talented. I'm just not inclined to give my farm away for him.
8. Your prediction for world series match up and result is...?
Houston will face the Nationals in the WS. Houston, having to face the bloodbath that is the AL Southern division. The Nationals swoop in and steal it in 6 over the weary and battered Astros.
