Please post here any items you would like discussed in the off season. To help keep the discussions organized please refrain from getting into details or responding to items in this thread. It is much easier to follow when discussions are contained in individual threads.
My agenda to date....
Possible changes to the playoff structure. Before we begin these discussions I want to mess around with settings in a sandbox league to better understand what the options are. I don't want us to debate changes that turn out to not even be possible. I hope to do that research tonight. Tomorrow at the latest.
A new version of OOTP will be out soon. I can tell you right now we will certainly remain on 19 for at least one more season. But we can discuss if/when we want to convert.
As promised we can revisit the Paramounts Credit program and determine if it something the league wants to continue with.
That's all I can think of at the moment. Remind me if there were other items or, again, feel free to bring up ideas no matter how crazy. I love the creativity that can come from the league. No ideas are bad or stupid.

If indeed the bizarre lopsided seeding is a concern, re-seeding the rounds of the playoffs is a hypothetical solution. But this doesn't really address the real issue, which is that the current playoff system generally seeds the 3rd or 4th best team 5th, because usually that 3rd or 4th best team didn't win their division. If we're really serious about this change:
Proposal 1: The four division-winners make the playoffs, along with the two teams with the best remaining records. Seeding is by record only.
For example, in the AL this year that would mean:
Seed 1: Cleveland Seed 2: Chicago White Sox Seed 3: New York Yankees Seed 4: Texas Seed 5: Colorado Seed 6: Kansas City
This is a moderately big change, but there's an argument to it. If the White Sox are the 2nd best team in the AL, why aren't they being seeded like it? Just because they happen to be in the same division as the #1 team? That doesn't make sense.
On the pro side, if we're taking seeding seriously, this is the obvious solution. On the con side, this is a big change, and may not be worth implementing for this reason.

Can we discuss the All Star game winner here? I believe currently the winner of the AS game gives the winning league WS home field advantage. Can we go back to using best records determine WS home field? A nice reward for a win-now team and it is earned, as opposed to fluke AS winner. Thoughts?

Random thought.
No idea how or if this would work, but it would be cool to see all teams put into a 2 loss elimination tournament. Maybe the champ could get small perk in PBL credits.
Only for this if injuries could be turned off of course.
Would make for some wild matchups.

Also there were some issues with roster management in the offseason making it quirky.

I think you'd want a 1 loss tournament, simply because that's the only way you'd do it in one sim.
I'm not particularly in favor of this, but if we were to do it that's the format I'd favor, because I have no interest in delays to the season.

Final case for NL MVP...
Although Quinton has a higher WAR, I still think Kanegawa had the better season.
I went with Kanegawa 1 and Quinton 2. I'm hoping Kanegawa takes it home, but either way both players had great seasons. Kanegawa broke his own record of home runs in a single season for the Reds. Quinton also broke it, but didn't pass Kanegawa for the new record.

OOTP does not allow for co Sean was on Slack and since both players are his I let him break the tie.
