It's starting to get a little frustrating that it takes 24 hours per pick...
Given how active the league is I figured we'd be almost done with round 1 by now - especially as I'm emailing and PMing people in plenty of time to just shoot me a message with a couple of names.
So, I'm going to impose a 12 hour time limit from now on... This is irrespective of time differences etc. Everyone has 12 hours - if they go over I'll auto for them and keep autoing for them until they send me a list.
If you're worried that this means you'll miss a pick - then simply send me a list a few picks before you're up. In round 2 we'll go to a 6 hour time limit, 3 hours per pick after that.
I know it's not very fair to change the rules half way through round 1, but at this rate we'll struggle to finish 2 rounds before draft day.
Orioles are on their 12 hour clock from now (I emailed Orioles GM yesterday... but no reply)

Like if somebody picks at 10PM in the night and the person afterwards doesn't find out until noon the next day, I don't think it would be fair for them to get auto'd. I want it to go fast too, but some people could sleep and drive to work through the night and not ever get a chance to even know they have a pick.

yup, i dont like having to do it this way either - but we have GMs in about 5 different time zones - so what time is 'night'?! If I saw I was dues up in 3 or 4 picks - I'd send in a list of 3 or 4 names - the chances of missing a pick and being auto'd if you do this are tiny

I just know it's happened to me before where I wasn't up for about 9 picks and then I woke up and apparantly there was a flurry of picks before me and my time limit ran out in the middle of the night, when I didn't even know. Not this league of course, but another one that is since no longer around. Putting together a list 9 picks ahead time for me isn't fun at all, too many variables. I stay active and will always be checking during drafts and if my pick got auto'd cause I was sleeping that would suck, considering the first thing I'd probably do when I wake up is check the forums. Just my two cents on all of that.

I do take your point Pirates (and the same has happened to mne in other drafts) - I'll definitely be sensitive to not auto picking for people when there's just been a flurry of picks before them - and they wouldnt have had a chance to know they were up.
I'm more just trying to stop people who are ignoring emails/ PMs from me when they're up in 2 picks time from holding everything up

I hear you man and I appreciate you doing all of this too. It helps out a lot. I'll definitely send you a list if I'm 2 or 3 players away, but I know I'll be checking like a mad man, too for the most part, hehe. Thanks man. Thinking about sending you an offer in vmlb, hehe.

Your worried about people needing to sleep and work? ? Where are your priorities??? Seriously man, get yourself together we all know it goes like this: 1) PBL 2) Family 3) Work 4) Sleep Geesh!! All kidding aside, I agree with Seattle on this one and I also agree with Pittsburgh but I like the way Seattle is handling this. I think he has a great grasp of the league and the forum and I know there really shouldn't be favoritism but I think there is a little more leeway for the more active members of the boards. Example, Pittsburgh and NY Yankees are two teams just to name 2 of MANY that are constantly posting on the forums, so if your pick is up, I am sure the Mariners will know a pick is coming soon and will grant you a little more time. Again, not that its playing favorites but I do think in life those who put more time into things should get a little more benefit of the doubt.
