Didn't see this in the League Governance and just wanted to see what the deal was:
What happens if you sign a comp pick but you've already traded away your 1st round pick? Or if you have another team's first round picks?

Or if you have another team's first round picks? You would lose your next highest pick left (2nd, 3rd, etc.). I don't believe you would lose a pick you traded for but I haven't messed with that in OOTP 18 yet.

Or if you have another team's first round picks? We debated this in the PBLRC a few seasons ago. This is kind of a cheat but we really could not think of a good way to legislate it. In the end we decided to let the game do what it will. If you sign a comp eligible FA you lose whatever your top draft pick is at the time of the signing. Exception is lottery picks are always protected. If your top pick is a lottery pick you will lose your second pick. If you have traded away your first round pick before you sign the FA you lose your second round. If you have traded FOR a first round pick and it is currently your highest pick, you lose that one.

Thanks... yeah I remember discussing this now. I guess I should be quickly shopping my first round pick then - wish there was some easy way to fix this.
