Last season I recorded unsigned draftees for the first five rounds of the draft and announced that I would be tracking these and adding compensation picks to the draft as required. It was brought to my attention that only the first three rounds of the draft should be eligible for compensation from unsigned draftees. Here is the quote from the OOTP manual found here OOTP Manual "If you are unable to sign your draftees in the allotted time, they will sit out the year and will be eligible to draft again next season! If this happens, you will be awarded compensation draft picks in next season's draft for players drafted in the first three rounds. The compensation pick will be at the same draft number as the unsigned draftee plus one, so if a #12 pick in 2010 is not signed the compensation pick will be #13 in 2011. If you fail to sign the player taken with the compensation pick then you do not get another compensation pick the following year." So in this seasons draft I will add in the compensation picks as announced for rounds 1-3, but not for 4 & 5. If you avoided signing someone in rounds 4 or 5 specifically as a result of my announcement let me know and we can work something out. Apologies for the confusion. I hope everyone respects my efforts to get the draft as accurate and correct as possible.

So think of it as "1, 1a, 2, 2a" if you both the #1 and #2 picks were unsigned, that pick 2a which would have been 3, is now 4. So from a strategy perspective, trying to rollover picks to get a better pick the following season isn't the best of strategies.
