Two sims ago my budget went from a green positive number to now $17mil in the hole and red as red can be. I have no idea what happened. Anyone else see this kind of huge swing?

Which screen and number are you looking at? Can you attach a screen shot?

Looks like you picked up a little bit of finances in recent trades but certainly not $17 million.
If you are comfortable with it a shot of your Accounting screen may help.

Just trying to throw out ideas...
Did you accidentally lower your ticket prices and then the game adjusted to that new projection?

So did your budget go down or did an expense go up higher than expected? What were your numbers prior to this?

Not sure. One sim I was green on projected balance, next sim I was red with a huge negative balance. Made no sense because I had just traded Sousa so I should have increased my projected balance in the positive direction.

The game shows you're only averaging 10k for home games. That has to be problem #1. What are your ticket prices set at?

what Nick said - looks like nobody is going to games and the games estimation of final revenue is starting to catch up to that fact

Just going by reports.
Since your Pirates trade you have taken on $5.13M in salary (in total). The Sousa trade did shed $6M but your new Baez trade just returned that $6M.
On the two widgets from your Finances page: Without any more to go on, if you are $30M in the red in your projected player budget right now, I don't see how you can really take on any more salary (I think). Just in the last two trades, when you shed the Sousa $6M, that would have made you "less red" but certainly wouldn't have got you to the point of being green on that one specific line. So I'm not sure how you can complete the Baez trade and assume $6M more without a flag being raised by the game? And because your cash is far less than your payroll budget number, that's why you show -$17.8M in cash. *** Unless of course I am missing something obvious?
On your Accounting page: You were budgeted to loose $29.35M this season, for a total balance of -$16.5M, according to the numbers you provided. Those numbers don't directly related to your projected player budget but they do include your overall payroll expenses (and everything else). Your projection on that page (far right) shows you will indeed lose roughly the budgeted amount.
The big difference year over year is the scouting and player expenses. Last year they were ZERO and now they are significant. That could have been raised either by you in the off-season (or possibly your owner before the start of the regular season - but not to put you that far in the red I would think).
Looks like you also have money allotted to sign draft picks (good) and a small amount for IAFA (you won't get much with that number, but your call). Both of those numbers would also have been set in the off-season.
So, aside from the trades taking on more money (which I don't get), unless you are mistaking the YEAR TO DATE numbers as showing you're in good shape (which are just a running total to the present time in the season), you are going to lose some money this year.
Hope you can lock up the division with what you have now? Playoff revenue of any kind would help.
Tim (SF) is "Mr. Numbers" in PBL. Maybe he'll have a look at this and offer more???

I think what shot me into the red was the development and scouting money but here's the thing, I had that set to zero (0) for both before 2 sims ago and now it has shot up dramatically! I didn't do that. So that's where I got screwed. I was ok or at least better off than what I am showing now. I was in the green. Something 2 sims ago screwed with my these 2 budgets and it wasn't me....

what Nick said - looks like nobody is going to games and the games estimation of final revenue is starting to catch up to that fact Yeah true but that's why I lowered ticket prices. Also, I can't understand why fans wouldn't come out if my team is performing well. I am in the playoff race headed into July, something unheard of in the last 10 seasons of PBL play. So I lowered the ticket prices to see if that would help but I only lowered it by like $3 bucks.

You can't change development and scouting budgets this late into the season correct? Mine has been 0 since spring training.
