Hey guys, I started a new league called the American Baseball Legion and I had some help from a few guys here and I'm almost ready to get it going. We got 24 teams filled (tentatively) but I'm anticipating some who joined to not show up when it counts. I think we did a good job getting some good GMs with experience too and I expect a very competitive league. Pretty cool to see but we got some PBL originals in it as well, might have the "PBL Original Six" with Shane, Mike, Randy, Erick, Nigel and myself. We also have some of the best GMs I ever played with joining like Fin, Danny, Sean, Adam, Nick, and John. We got two-three former or current Commissioners from other leagues in it and some guys who have been very helpful to others on the OOTP Boards. This looks like the making of a very competitive league (fingers crossed). The league is being done on OOTP18 and will be a new league with a spin like we did in the beginning of the PBL. There will be an expansion, relocation, stadium upgrades or new stadiums, ways to keep the league fresh. The website to check things out is: americanbaseballlegion.comThe forum to see what's been talked about is: ablootp.proboards.comStatslab is up and running as well. We will also be using slack for on the go, instant communication. The following teams are still open: Arizona Cincinnati Kansas City Miami

What is slack? And do we have it here in the PBL as well?

We do not use slack in the PBL. Its a real time messenger. Slack is great for people who can keep up, but it kills people like me who just can't keep up. It's gotten very popular in OOTP, and even though I'm not a fan, i understand why.
I feel it would be a bad thing for this league, as our forums are amazing, and slack would kill alot of activity.

I'm in a couple of other leagues that use Slack. It's really nice. You basically same time message each other, like texting, and can work out trades and stuff a lot faster than using the forums. Also, you can setup alerts that pop up on your mobile device so you can see right away when someone is offering you a trade or whatever. I like it in some ways better than the forums but I agree with you that the forums are great, especially for leagues like the PBL, where GMs like to write about their teams and do various other writeups and stuff. Slack is not real good for that kind of thing.

It is also fantastic for talking trades, informing people when the sim is up or when they have a draft pick coming up. Anything that is one on one or real time communication. But the forum is much better for writing up articles and having longer discussions about rule changes etc. Each have their strengths.

The ABL will be using slack for general talk about the league on the go, trade blocks if teams want and sim updates.
Everything else is being done on the forum
