The results are in and wow. Biggest drop I have seen for the top two teams since I have been doing the draft. Pick 1: Marlins (had 16 balls) Pick 2: Cardinals (had 5 balls) Pick 3: Diamondbacks (had 8 balls) Pick 4: Blue Jays (had 6 balls) Pick 5: Tigers (had 25 balls) Pick 6: Expos (had 11 balls) Pick 7: Royals (had 21 balls) Pick 8: Mets (had 4 balls) Pick 9: Mariners (had 1 ball) Pick 10: Rockies (had 3 balls) With comp picks the lottery results look like this: 1. Marlins 2. Cardinals 3. Diamondbacks 4. Tigers (Comp) 5. Blue Jays 6. Tigers 7. Expos 8. Royals 9. Mets 10. Mariners 11. White Sox (Comp) 12. Rockies

I'm just really happy that Kansas City took it on the chin. I think the only solution is to tank harder! Have pitchers throw with off hands, batters use their bats upside down. Let one fan a game pitch one inning! Get creative with your tanking.

I mean, I know he was doing some really odd things with his lineup but are we sure he was really tanking it? It is unthinkable to me that someone would do that! I have managed some very very bad Cubs teams in my 3 years in the PBL but to lose intentionally....it would make me sick to play this game that way. I am sick of losing. I don't care about how high I draft...I want to freaking end the season above .500!
My 2 cents.
PS. One of the most embarrassing things that happened to me last season was when I played the Royals in a game at Wrigley and one of their pitchers, who happened to be playing the OF, smashed a game winning HR of one of my relievers. Awesome.

He wasn't carrying enough active players to field a legal team. The result had pitchers playing positions and other players playing out of position. He brought up a player who had been previously injured. He admitted to not caring how his team did. All of these combined was a unacceptable level of tank!

Yeah I am just shocked someone would play the game that way and I am kind of surprised he is still a GM in the PBL tbh.

Wait wait...so since I didn't export for a couple of days, and guys got hurt, I'm the asshole? I got on, set my stuff properly for the rest of the season.
My team was a mess when I got it. I think I did a pretty good job in one season of getting some good prospects in the mix. My main concern is that they are in the right spots. My major league W-L ultimately doesn't mean anything to my team. I heard the cries about my lineup, so I fixed it ASAP. Otherwise, my goal is to build a small market champion...and I think I'm on a good path. If you don't like it, I'm sorry.

Ricky,
I think the people are very defensive of the PBL and you being new still need to prove yourself and that is one of the things that make the PBL so good. Sometimes situations like yours happen and teams are destroyed and it creates a rotating door of GMs for a team which is poison for a league and sometimes things shake out the other way and the league is proven wrong. I will say this, those who preach the loudest about how you handled this first season will also be the loudest in congratulating you when you turn it around.
That said, as much as you do not care about the ML wins and losses, and I understand your rebuilding direction, it is important to field a respectable team that can compete, even to a degree and that starts with not having injured players or players playing out of position. The way you prioritize the ML team right now is your right but its the right of the members of the league to want to face real teams. They do not want to fight in a pennant race and have their opponent go against a 20 man roster with pitchers in the outfield.
At one point, I had to manually adjust the Royals roster during the season to get players off the DL, onto the active roster and set lineups correctly. This is the concern.
I wish you the best of luck and I hope you turn the Royals around, they were once a proud franchise. I also hope you keep the integrity of the PBL in mind while taking your time with the rebuild.

Nobody called you an asshole. I said you were tanking, which you were and which you admit. Thanks for apologizing for it, that's appreciated. All I said was that I'm glad that your reward for tanking was nil. For a guy who once said this you seem to be a little sensitive to being told you are doing something that you are doing. When the Royals get going, I fully intend to be the bad guy.

He was sitting, in AAA. Injured. You added him to your 40 and 25 man rosters, and let him sit on the bench in order to help field a ridiculous lineup. Play innocent all you want, you clearly aren't....

That's why I really really like that the PBL has a draft lottery. Teams can shamelessly tank but it will not necessarily pay off for them and all it does is keep getting your budget reduced year after year after year
That's all in part because you're major-league team is horrible and nobody is going to the to the game to buy tickets. Even on the off chance that all of your prospects in the minors develop and you get to bring them up, by the time they get to arbitration you won't be able to afford to keep your team intact and you'll have to starter rebuild all over again.
That's why it's important even during the rebuild to try and improve your win loss record because it will pay off in the overall picture. This is not directed at any person just a general statement
