When I dumped the draft pool into spreadsheet I purposefully removed players that were impossible or had high bonus demands. However after drafting these players, they went from 'slot' to asking for a couple million to sign.
Is this common for players to change like this?

Same thing happened to me this season. A lot more impossible guys to sign. Maybe guys we drafted were taken by other teams and so system picked these guys as replacements??

Well, the impossible players got drafted if your draft list team ran out. Why the scout would ever purposely make impossible picks is beyond me. But these rarely happen in high rounds so I don't worry about it much.
As for the slot guys now asking for millions, you have to consider what round they were picked. The slot price of a first round pick is always a couple million. Now a guy "might" go less than that, but probably won't.

They were both slot guys before but are now demanding $4M to sign (the slot is around $2.5M).

I have experienced this before where a player demand is $2 mil but jumps in my case to $6 mil. This could happen for many different reasons but one theory is that you selected the player earlier than they were projected and the slot demand went up.

Yeah, I've had that happen before too. Very annoying, especially if I was already planning on bumping up against my draft budget. This year I had the opposite happen for the first time. My 1st pick, Tommy Alexander, asked for 1M when the slot was like 2.4M.

Yeah, in that case it's just player greed. You can check that in the BBN player page, but there's not really much way of knowing when it will strike. Suffice to say, if he'd been picked in a lower round he'd probably have lower demands. I'd say the "slot" demand pre-draft is more of an indication that the player expects to be picked in a round outside the first few, rather than a promise to ask for the slot price.

My experience was kind of the opposite. Two picks in the top of the draft, both with significant demands on draft day. Knowing that I had the picks, I set aside $12M in draft budget. Once drafted, both suggested it would not be that hard to sign them and they would welcome the chance to play for us (whatever that standard line is). Was indeed able to sign them below their ask, so have some money left over to sign a few more. AND in the case of my fourth and fifth picks, their "demand" is far less than the "slot" amount. I have "met their demand" and really hope they bite on that. If that's the case, then I may just have enough to sign my third pick? Maybe not. And the AI picked three impossibles later for me. Simply a question mark and not even any demand. Would not have the cash for that anyway. Possibly the game is "infusing" some talent on my behalf? ? I need it!

I had the same experience Greg. My 3 through 6 round picks all were impossible and I know none of them were at the time I generated my list (which, granted was at the time the draft pool was announced). I only had enough money available to sign one of them so I am SOL on 3 picks.
Not sure if that was an anomaly this season or if something has changed. You can bet next season I'll be double checking the last sim before the draft.

For several seasons, I have noticed that player demands sometimes change as the season progresses (i.e., from the time the draft list is unveiled through draft day).

My draft plan is up in smoke. I selected 5 players in the first 3 rounds, but it looks like I will only afford 2 of them (neither of the first-rounders to boot).
Lesson learned - check greed, re-dump the pool of players often and increase my draft budget.
