It appears the paramountbaseball.proboards.com/thread/11155/cubs-white-sox-announce-deal trade was processed pre-sim. I went a week without a starting pitcher and no cleanup hitter identified. This team isn't going anywhere this season so no real harm done. But I would like clarification on the timing of trades being executed moving forward. In this case my trade partner requested the trade be processed pre-sim. I was out last night and didn't see this until this morning, so I hadn't confirmed this and hadn't set up my team to deal with pending changes. My understanding after checking the governance page was to get a trade processed pre-sim BOTH GMs had to state that.

You are correct. Normally though when one team makes a pre-sim assignment, it's assumed it was agreed upon and I will process it as such. It doesn't make it right but either way in this instance one team would have been with a missing roster/rotation spot(s) because Cubs assumed pre-sim, White Sox did not.
I apologize.

Thanks Commish. I'll be sure to include this in future trade discussions so both parties are on the same page, and will include the PRE/POST decision in the trade post.

I apologize if I messed this up. I didn't realize both teams had to agree on the pre-sim. Sorry Greg.

No worries, like I said the Sox aren't going anywhere this season anyway. I'm glad I know its something to discuss when finalizing trades in the future.
